I felt immense relief. That told me a lot right there.

Me too! Along with the other emotions I listed above.

Oddly, I haven't felt like a failure at all. Shit happens. Move forward. I didn't do anything wrong and did everything right.

You all did too. Divorce isn't failure. If that were the case, half all marriages (bc they end in divorce) in this country would be populated with failures. That's logically incoherent on the face of it.

I don't feel like divorce is going to be this amazing cakewalk, but I don't think it will be nearly as bad as I did a year ago.

A friend of mine who is divorced said to me this week, "A year from now you are going to look back and be AMAZED you put up with all of this and stuck it out this long. AMAZED."
