General Type of Question:
I have noticed how others are able to copy portions of what others have written and insert it into the post they are writing. What they are copying appears in a window pane or banner that looks different and separate from the post they are writing so that people know they are reading something someone else wrote and posted elsewhere.
I have looked all around this site for instructions on how to do that, but so far I haven't found any. Perhaps I am overlooking it.
Yesterday I wanted to insert into the post I was writing what another poster had written verbatim. Since I did not know how to do it I just ended up doing an old fashioned Copy and Paste. I put apostrophes at the beginning and end so others would know I was copying what someone else had written.
I know how to make my writing Bold and/or with Italics. However, other than doing an old fashioned Copy and Paste, how does one insert what someone else has written so that it appears in a window type pane or banner inside the post I am writing and lets others know that I am just copying what someone wrote???
