Well I have come across a bunch. Firsthand. Or at least they don't seem to feel particularly bad about their behavior.

Agree, it seems almost baked in for a high number of WS's. The idea that they are crying in their beer with sopping tears of remorse just doesn't seem to wash. Some of them do, and they seem like genuinely great people who come here to comment and post. But the set of character defects that enable adultery in the first place seem stacked up for a high potential of BPD/NPD type tendencies in which many just don't have the empathy level to feel bad enough about what they've done.

"True character is revealed in the choices a human being makes under pressure. The greater the pressure, the deeper the revelation, the truer the choice to the character's essential nature."
