I had my first trigger that did not directly involve the AP Thursday.

A text came through to me from a local number that said 'Watch your husband despite the ring, he is not being faithful.' Needless to say, I collapsed into a full panic attack. My WH stopped home quick and found me in hysterics and denied all wrongdoing. He attempted to call the number on both our phones and it went to voicemail. He returned to work at my urging. I decided to text the number back and an hour later received a message back that said "I'll provide the necessary information for payment". The number is registered to a 50 year old man I have never met. My sister tried the number as well, straight to voicemail.

Clearly spam, but how the hell do you stop yourself from sinking immediately?

So sorry that happened to you. It depends on how your healing goes. It took my till 3-3.5 years before I stopped flinching/jumping at the AP's name and city where she lives. I still am hypervigilant in the car.

Others have reported going years without a trigger, then BAM!

The Body Keeps the Score by Vessel Van Der Kolk isn't infidelity related but is about trauma as a whole. You may find the book helpful to understand what you're going through and what may help. For example, yoga may help your body process through the trauma.
