Late Night - Emma Thompson

sisoon posted 6/16/2019 10:10 AM

I saw the ads. I like Emma Thompson and John Lithgow. We went to see the movie yesterday.

Infidelity plays a significant role in the story. There's nothing about infidelity in the ads.

There's a little bit that is sort of good about the B side of being betrayed, but mostly it's about the WS finding grit.

It was great watching Thompson and Lithgow. On the whole, though...

I recommend staying away, especially if you're close to d-day.

Mindy Kaling, writer/star/producer/maybe director, did not win me as a fan.

JMO, of course.

Two great actors. I like watching the Graham Norton Show on BBC America to see fun stories with actors. Grahams a hoot.

I want a studio to make the adventures of Commander Mac Bragg with Sean Connery or George Clooney.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeze!

Saw it last night and agree with sisoon.
Was pretty irked they referred to her A as a "mistake" and followed it up with a bunch of excuses (my BH was ill, blah blah), but I guess that's hollywood.

Sisoon,

Thank you for letting us know. This is one on my radar that I very much wanted to see. Knowing they skim over infidelity and I'm not a big Mindy fan either, I think I'll be skipping this lovely gem.

Thanks for the heads up! It was on my list of movies to see. Too bad bc I love her, Lithgow AND Mindy Kalig.

I think we need a database of “safe” movies! Are there any? My WH asked last night if I wanted to watch anything and I told him there was no way of knowing what would trigger me. (Though I have a longer list than infidelity at this point.) I tried watching the new Netflix with Adam Sandler/Jennifer Aniston and in the first scene he’s talking about lying to his wife and then the whole next scene centers on their 15 anniversary (the last one we celebrated a month before his A started). I lasted 15 minutes before having a panic attack. 🙄

You might also want to miss Jim Gaffigan in "Being Frank" a comedy about a bigamist with a secret second family.
