If I want a trans am, is that a midlife crisis?
Depends on the color. Red means MLC, any other color means you're cool!

Notthevictem posted 4/4/2019 10:51 AM

So I hafta pick a red one if I wamt to get my mlc put of the way. Damn. Black with the airbrushed firebird so so much cooler than the red t-top with the yellow phoenix on the hood.

WornDown posted 4/4/2019 12:35 PM

Oh, no. Getting the Trans Am 455 Super Duty from Trans Am Worldwide in ANY color would definitely qualify as mid-life crisis. But money ($100K) well spent.

1000+ hp and sexy as hell.

You might even get some attention from women; of course you would just be driving it to make yourself feel good.

They do have a red one. But it's ONLY 600 hp.

See that black and gold one... aw man it's so beautiful! I could be one of those dudes that waxes his car in an open garage every afternoon.

Candyman66 posted 4/4/2019 14:57 PM

NTV that's because if the door was down that real pretty paint job would peel if YOU cut one!!!

Notthevictem posted 4/4/2019 16:03 PM

Yeah you're right. Sometimes it stinks not being able to own nice things.

NHL playoffs about to start. Wednesday. Another year the Edmonton Oilers are now playing golf. I've lost count. I can't remember if that's once in the playoffs in the last 12, 13 or 14 years. And all those first round draft picks.

At least the Blues are in the playoffs. Maybe not for long.

Tred posted 4/16/2019 21:55 PM

No way anyone had Pens and Lightning being swept in the first round. That was epic. Presidents cup swept. Crosby zero goals. Going to be an interesting playoff.

Oh, and I didn't really mention it, but how about them Wahoos? We used to have some lively March Madness talk in here. As a well known UVA fan to those who were around years ago, this was special to me as it wasn't just winning the national championship. It was revenge. I was at the Gator Bowl in 2007 when Texas Tech beat Virginia. I was at the Chick Fil A Bowl when Auburn beat Virginia. So beating both of those teams to win the National Championship was a little bit special.

WornDown posted 4/17/2019 07:48 AM

I'm a die hard Pens fan, but I didn't have much hope for this year's playoffs. They just weren't a good team.

Crosby not scoring? That was/is surprising. Them getting swept? not surprising.

Hola fellas! Wanted to drop on in and say whats up to the boys.

Love hanging out with the boys, but certainly wasn't planning on joining this Elks club.

Love the cars, the booze (although not drinking much these days), and sports talk.

Pulling up a seat around this fire.

WornDown posted 4/23/2019 15:19 PM

Newbies bring beer!

(or whatever you're into drinking - beer, wine, scotch, gut cleanse - whatever)

Welcome to the club (sadly).

Was drinking some bleach for a minute there trying to get this stench off me. My homewrecker WW cheated on me with her boss, while his wife was pregnant. I pretty much needed to bath in bleach to get away from that stench.

Now back to whiskey. I'll serve a round up for the fellas. Throw on some tri-tip for some sandos as well.

WornDown posted 4/24/2019 10:00 AM

Ugh...that's bad.

My ex's last "boyfriend" (the one I finally divorced over), started seeing my ex about a month after his first daughter was born. With down syndrome.

Real piece of work that guy was.

It takes all kinds of assholes.

HalfTime2017 posted 4/29/2019 15:18 PM

Worn,

It was actually the reason I could no longer be with the exWW. Originally, I just wanted to fix things, played the pick me dance game to get the family back together.

But over a period of 2 months, talking with the OBS, speaking with my WW's best friend, it was too much for me. We have 2 kids together, and her lack of respect for another women, while she was preggos really turned me off to her as a person. There wasn't anything to reconcile, even though I originally wanted to. From D-Day it took me 2 months to get my head out of my own ass. But I can say that the final straw was this reoccuring reminder that she cheated on me with a homewrecker whose wife was 7 months pregnant. They are both pieces of Shit. I just couldn't forgive that type of behavior, and til this day, I'm not sure if she has any remorse. I think she still sees herself as the victim, who made one bad choice.

Ultimately, she'll have to reconcile with her own poor choices. She got her self a real winner, whose cheated on his wife on multiple occasions, and this last time while his wife was pregnant with their 4th child. How someone makes themselves believe that that is a good idea is beyond me.

Hello gents. It's nearly 4:00 p.m. here. I'm slipping out early to get some miles on the bicycle. A couple of cold ones await me in the fridge for later this evening. Have a good one.

sisoon posted 5/4/2019 10:23 AM

How was your ride?

I'm going out this afternoon in 55 degree weather. Colder than I'd like, really, but it's sunny and clear, and Weather Underground tells me I'll have the wind at my back on my way home.

Butforthegrace posted 5/5/2019 18:38 PM

Thanks for asking. Went only about 15 miles Friday, but it was a gorgeous high prairie spring evening, about 58 and sunny. Saturday I was contemplating another ride, but the wife invited me to join her on a 5-mile power walk. I've not done a power walk in quite some time. The quads were speaking to me this a.m. The wife and I took a 21 mile bike ride today.

On Friday night I had a good Alt from a local German-style craft brew, then a pale ale. Last night it was 2 IPA's from a local craft brew.

sisoon posted 5/6/2019 14:03 PM

The weekend was gorgeous here, too. Sunny and low 60s Saturday, sunny and into the 70s on Sunday. 18 and 10 miles. Aiming for 50 miles on or around the solstice.

The last time I rode with my W, we did 3 miles, and we had to stop once to rest and once for her to recover from a crash. She's not a good biking partner. (OTOH, my bike lives in the foyer of our apartment, 2 sets of riding clothes are now drying in our living room, and she's never complained, not even pre-A. )

I had a great week/weekend!

I passed my EMT-Intermediate class (basically a paramedic); just have to pass the nation practical exam (this Saturday) and written (to be scheduled).

But more importantly, my oldest graduated from the University of Alabama! One down, two to go!

It was a great weekend I got to spend with all my kids and my parents (although the parents drove me nuts with little things ). I was with my kids pretty much the whole time from Friday through Sunday; my son, my brother and I stayed at my middle D's 3BR house that she was renting and was our base of operations (the roommates had left for the year)

Even better, I was able to avoid seeing/dealing with my ex (the kids saw her and her mom for lunch on Saturday. It was not good; the ex kept disappearing from the table - she was going to the bar and drinking. Really sad. )
