I loved it. I've been sick of Rick picking damsels and whiners for a while. Now they'll be a power couple. I think the match is perfect. All the lead up to it with the discussion about who should kill family zombies and even the way they acted like an old married couple on the couch were foreshadowing. It was nice to see something good happen for a change.

lieshurt posted 2/23/2016 11:55 AM

I must admit that I did think "oh no, she's going to die next"....seems to happen to the women he's involved with.

Pentup posted 2/25/2016 13:43 PM

On the talking Dead (after the show) the actress playing Michonne was on there and they said that to her. do you feel like a target? Because Rick hasn't been much of a good luck charm. Paraphrasing ...

How did they know that the mayor was out there? They left her to kill herself? Why was she out there and not in the lake? Did I miss something?

And what about Jesus? Good guy or not?

Newlease posted 2/26/2016 16:09 PM

I think they took some creative license with the whole Deanna as a zombie thing. It was highly improbable that she would make it out of the house and outside the walls during the whole showdown/lake of fire episode. But Spencer was looking for her because he thought he "caught a glimpse" and it dovetailed nicely in allowing Carl to lead her to her Spencer so he could kill her (much like Carl had to put Lori down).

I think Jesus is a way cool good guy. They could learn some things from him - especially how to tie good knots - he seems to keep slipping out of the ropes they use to tie him up.

Can you tell I spend way too much time obsessing about this show? I'm excited for Sunday night.

Interesting episode last night. Carol trying to regain her humanity. Was really sad at the first seeing she'd left a cookie on Sam's grave. Then, going in the opposite direction, Rick beats the crap out of a severed walker head prompting the guy from Hilltop to say that he thought the Saviors were a jacked up bunch but they have nothing on Rick. Now with Carol and Maggie in the hands of the Saviors, I'm getting an uneasy feeling we're about to lose Carol or Glen.

The way Abraham broke up with Rosita was a bit heartless. I'm surprised she didn't shoot him

Pentup posted 4/4/2016 13:07 PM

Who watched the season finale last night??

lieshurt posted 4/4/2016 13:16 PM

I watched it. I have to say I was disappointed in the ending.

Pentup posted 4/4/2016 14:44 PM

I don't like all the people on people meanness. I can watch what happens to the zombies because I don't consider them "people".

Do you think it was Glen?

lieshurt posted 4/4/2016 15:18 PM

I don't think it was Glen. I hope it's Carl, but I think it's probably Eugene.

Pentup posted 4/4/2016 15:25 PM

You hope it's Carl? that made me laugh a bit.
I think that "take it like a man" was a hint which would mean Carl or one of the women I think? I'd think if it was Carl. We would have heard Rick. But Rick looked pretty out of it, so??

BeautifulEmpty posted 4/4/2016 15:44 PM

I would be totally shocked if it's Carl and here's (sort of) why.

I've read most of the comics to date. I know that the tv show doesn't match the comics beat for beat but it does follow them like an alternate reality.
The big deaths always occur but not to the same person in the comics etc...
I knew that Daryl was alive because the guy who shot him wasn't important enough to kill Daryl...but Negan is important enough to kill any of them.
If Negan kills Carl, it will completely erase a very unique part of the comic story line between Carl and Negan. There is no one else to fill Carl's spot if they want to use this unique relationship.
Megan's comment about "taking it like a man" well..I think he says it in the comics too but he didn't kill Carl there. I'd have to look to make sure I'm right but I'm not sure him saying that matters. He's just mocking whoever it was. I mean, by that standard, it could have been any of the women too.

With all that said, it could easily be Daryl now...they've set you up by shooting him and casting doubt on the one before this and here's the kicker...Daryl isn't in the comics at all. He takes Tyrese's position from the comic storyline and we all know, Tyrese is already long gone...so anything could happen to Daryl.

Im a huge fan...:)

*Negan...not Megan >.<

Last night is pushing me away from the show.

They keep encountering evil groups. This one is no different except it's a bigger group and it's a bigger evil.

This show's penchant for amping up adrenaline while not wanting to do anything too drastic (e.g., Glenn's "death" into the zombie mosh pit) is totally off-putting. Game of Thrones will kill a beloved character without remorse. TWD is to scared of going against formula for that.

And waiting a whole season to see who gets beat to death? Yawn.

And of course, the group will somehow figure out a way to somehow overtake the new big evil group. Yawn.

I'm hoping FTWD continues it's superior narrative arc.

I could barely tolerate FTWD. The teenagers in that show made me want to get my own Lucille and beat the hell out of them. I hope it's better this season.

Also, I hoped it was Carl simply because the gets on my nerves....clearly teenagers bother me Actually, I thought it would have really messed with people if Negan had killed Judith. However, even TWD wouldn't go that far.

I watched the Talking Dead afterwards. Creator was on there. In the comic series, Glenn is killed by Neegan. So.... I'm thinking it could be him because he survived a few times, barely saw his wife and boom. But the creator also said there were some clues at the end. I didn't record, so can't go back and see what they might be. Could be Carl. Probably Glen. Might be Abrahams gf (can't remember her name) but I think Abraham would have went nuts. Eugene could go....

I wish they would run Into people that just want to survive and find strength in numbers without being awful to each other.

I hope it's not Michonne! Carl just said he didn't want to lose anyone else....Rick has horrible luck with women....

I think the signs point to it was Glen. I haven't read the comic books but the finale was supposedly exactly like issue 100 and that the end of that issue Glen was killed in that lineup in front of Maggie.

Also, one piece of foreshadowing from this season, it was Glen who saw the pictures of dead people up on the wall of the compound they stormed. Those photos were all of people who had their heads smashed in (presumably with a bat).

The problem though is that they haven't been following the comics exactly, so it's difficult to say who it might be. For example, Denise wasn't supposed to be the one shot in the eye with an arrow. It was supposed to be Abraham.

Very true LiesHurt and I totally agree with you. And I think it's good they venture off the beaten path to keep people on their toes. We can't really know for sure until next season.

Between yesterday and today in my "free time" I did do some scouring of the internets to see if I could find any clues. And of course there is a ton out there right now complete with fans slowing down and cleaning up the audio.

Quote from Wetpaint:

As we predicted, however, the identity of Negan’s first victim wasn’t yet revealed thanks to clever camera work, but some very devoted fans have slowed down the last few seconds of that brutal final scene and they believe they’ve figured out exactly who Negan beat to death with Lucille.

Once the audio is slowed down, it sounds like several characters — including pregnant Maggie Greene — are shouting Glenn Rhee’s name.

First, a woman’s primal scream is heard, and it makes sense Mags would let out quite a yell if the love of her life was being beaten to a pulp just feet away from her.

Then a male’s voice (possibly Abraham Ford) says something that sounds an awful lot like “Glenn,” and someone else (maybe Carl Grimes?) screams, “No!”

The kicker? At the very end of the audio clip, someone who sounds like Maggie can be heard uttering what sounds like “Hold on, Glenn.”

I also read things about season 5's foreshadowing of Glenn and the bat.

Also, people have been trying to look into Steven Yeun's contract. Supposedly it expired at the end of season 6 but no one can see a renewal (unlike Jon Snow from Game of Thrones where people did see a new contract with Kit Harrington).

I know. None of it really means anything other than we fans are tortured for at least 6 more months until the opener. Just I for one don't want to see anymore of the original group go. Who's left from that original group? Rick, Carl, Carol, Daryl, and Glenn. Some very dynamic characters right there. I personally hope it's not any of them.

Same here,lh.

The 'wetpaint' thing:

The same would be true if it was Maggie who just got lucilled.

That's what I would do, if I were King or Lord 'Negan'. I mean, we're back to feudal times here. I would want my 'serfs' to be able-bodied. It's looking rather like Maggie is on her last legs. She wouldn't have much to offer me in the way of an able body.

I have no idea about the comics as I haven't read one since 'Archie' when I was twelve. It's cute, though, how they are now called 'gothic novels' by folks over the age of ....what?.......20?

We know it wasn't Rick or Carl who got lucilled because Negan said something like, "If anyone moves, cut out the kid's eye and feed it to his father".

It wasn't Carol because she's all shot up with Morgan and (supposedly) 'saved' by the guys with the horses who are dressed like dirt-bike riders.

And by the way, why is one of them carrying a spear that was obviously made by someone at Hilltop. I don't trust that whole Hilltop thing because it just looked so.....perfect. A perfect little colonial village with the manor house and a blacksmith, and a village doctor. And that leads me to someone upthread asking if we should trust Jesus.

I don't. There's something a bit too cute about 'Jesus' and the 'saviors'.

Luckily we have several months to chase down cheeseless tunnels.
