Talking to a work colleague today and this was the conversation we had!

*talking about inane stuff then he says*

"My gf said to me last night..."

Me (interrupting) GF? Hang about... you're M so how can you have a gf?

Him: Well, she's not my gf... she's my mistress!

Me: Well I think that is disgusting and you're out of order having an A so whatever your 'girlfriend' said to you last night I don't want to hear it. End of!

Him: I was in the army for 35 years and when I was away my W lived as a single woman as she got used to me not being there (justification). The army expects you to be and act like a certain type of person and that person is not conducive to married life (excuse) so when I came home we got on each other nerves (projection!)

Wife decided after I left the army it wasn't working so wanted to S for a while to see if we could have some space to work on the M (odd)although she wanted to stay in contact...I guess to work on stuff (you guess??!!)

I moved out and my daughter's bf's mother was in a similar situation to me and one thing led to another and I spent more time with her than my W and started to feel attracted to her and we sort of got together... there was nothing I could do. What else could I have done in that situation?

Me: Divorce your f***ing wife and THEN start another relationship! End of story!!

I then left...

Harsh? Maybe!

Do I care? Not one bit!

I stand by my morals- he should have divorced his wife as it sounded like she was hoping to resolve their issues but he just jumped into another woman's bed instead.

What do you think?

I think you are my hero!

You go girl! Give um hell!

Next time you see him you might want to add, "don't ever again speak to me of your 'girlfriend', I find your behavior repulsive."

EXCELLENT!!!! My only wish.... you didn't listen to that drivel he had to say about his "excuses", or let him know that that's all a bunch of bull that he feeds himself at night so he can sleep and he's just a broken sad little man who will never find happiness outside of himself. Still, SUPER glad you told him off no matter what. :-)

Wow! It is shocking to me that someone would so casually admit to having a mistress, like it's just not really a big deal. LOVE your response!!!

Bravissimo! If I knew how to post Orson Welles clapping his hands, I would.

I don't feel it would really make a difference to the adulterers, but it would be nice if everyone would respond as you did when one finds out a co-worker, friend, family member, whatever is committing adultery.

My former dear friend of over 25 years just told me I was "judgmental" when I called her out on her adultery. You see, they were different and special, it was true love, dontcha know.

This is what I thought too. When he said she's not actually my Gf she's my mistress he looked so smug my stomach turned over which is why I cut him off! I'm still wondering how I managed to avoid slapping him just for that smug look!

Needless to say I shall not entertain this a-hole should he mention the ow again! I think he gets the message loud and clear
