What?  Posted: 5:35 PM, July 22nd (Monday)

The state department of revenue helps me collect CS owed. He's messed up amounts, is late, on and on. When I logged on today to check for updates it says recent actions taken and lists 'confiscation of lottery winnings'. Does this mean he won the lottery or is this just standard language? How come if it's just wording, it doesn't say seizure of income tax refund or other sanctions they normally use.

I meant to add that I checked this state's winners and neighboring state's winners and his name is not there as of today.

Ooh, how cool would that be? Yes, when the state is facilitating CS, they do monthly checks for assets not previously known. If they find one, they can/will confiscate it and put the value towards arrears.

I see that statement every month, that the state is looking for more assets to seize. Arrears today = $86K. I've never seen them find anything for us, but if they are being specific with verbiage, I would say he won something.

I hope it's BIG money.

We don't have that service here but I suspect it is ANY Lottery monies so it could be $20 or it could be $20m.

I'm rooting for $86k!

It would have to be an amount that requires reporting and does not pay out in cash at the store level. How nice for him that he gets some of his child support paid without having to actually work for it.

True tearsoflove...but I'm going to hold on to how much it would burn a deadbeat parent to NOT get the money in their pocket!

Here in my state if the lottery winnings is over $600 you have to report it.

Hope all his winnings go to you.

I agree devastated but I think any lottery proceeds the kids get should be extra toward their education and he should still owe the original amount minus the buck or two he paid for the ticket...
