Since R'ing we have had a fairly adventurous sex life. I have considered getting my hoo ha (clitoral hood pierced). I have been told that this enhances stimulations, and is a huge turn on for men.
If anyone out there has had this done, can you share a few things with me.
1. How bad did it hurt?
2. How long did it take to heal?
3. How long did you abstain from intercourse because of it? (this last one is what has kept me from doing it so far, since we are frequent flyers in the bedroom. )
4. Do you prefer a bar or a ring in it, and do you ever change it?

Thanks for your answers....I was thinking on doing this and surprising H with it.

Im going to preface this to say, I have no experience nor any desire to get my hoo ha pierced. I'm responding out of shear curiosity..

Have you talked about/ mentioned it to your H? What does he think?

I just have to say you're really brave to get it! That's a sensitive area!

1) Everyone's pain is different. Take me and my tattoos. I once sat for 7 hours. Some people can't take 15 minutes. Will it hurt? Yes. Will it hurt forever? No. Will it be sore after? Yes.

2) It takes 4 - 8 weeks to heal. The more you bang around (no pun intended) a fresh piercing the more you injure it. Scar tissue will build up and the healing will take longer.

3) See above. You want to make sure you are healed so that you don't risk going back to day one of healing.

4) There are two kinds. Vertical and horizontal. Verticals use a bar and horizontals use a ring. You want to make sure any jewelry fits well. Starting jewelry tends to be a little longer or bigger in diameter to accommodate swelling

All that said, the first thing you need to figure out is if you have enough skin to pierce. Not everyone has the anatomy for the piercing. You risk rejection (jewelry growing out) if the skin is not large enough for the piercing to be places deep enough. Best way to tell...go to a piercer and drop trou. They should be able to tell you. Also, not everyone gets the stimulation thing.

LOL Momma4, Yes he has mentioned that he thinks it "sexy as hell".

I have a high pain tolerance, and thought it might be a fun thing to do. The real question is can I keep him off me long enough for it to heal.

I have a friend that did it, a several years ago, and she love it, and says it makes her feel pretty even when she's naked. LOL.

While we're on the subject of these types of piercings, maybe TCD can answer my question about the nipple piercing thing. Do3K had his done and said it hurt REALLY badly (and he has a high pain tolerance), but he also has small nipps I've thought about having it done since I will not be nursing anymore children. I know everyone has a different level of pain tolerance, but I am afraid to have it done...I am afraid I won't want anyone going near that area ever again

I had mine done years ago but took it out when the oldest was born to nurse. The constant in and out was irritating. Before the holes closed up I used to squirt milk out of the piercing! For me the actual piercing was a painful burning sensation. It was intense but it didn't last long. Afterwards it was painfully sore. Wearing a seatbelt sucked. And you can't wear a bra (which is annoying if you have a larger chest).

DO NOT DO THIS!! I can't emphasize this enough and I personally love piercings and have a few. This is an area that does not heal quickly and has a very high risk of infection. An infection can be very painful and have devastating side effects.

I would be super scared of scar tissue and reduced sensation.

I would consider talking with an experienced and respected acupuncturist before piercing anything. There is some thought that certain piercings interfere with the meridians in the body.

(I'm pretty sure I am doing the tightest involuntary kegel exercises ever right now - ouch, ouch, ouch is all I keep thinking)

I've not considered getting my nether regions pierced in any way. A friend of mine had her belly button done and she had an allergic reaction to the belly button ring and then it turned into a major infection. Took months to heal and a few rounds of antibiotics. I'm extremely reactive to metals and have a hell of a time just finding earrings for pierced ears that don't infect them. I can only imagine the issues I'd have anywhere else on my body.

Ok... I'll jump in.

I do not have a Clitoral Hood Piercing, but only because I don't have the correct anatomy for it. I originally went in for the VCH and when that didn't work came out with a nose piercing instead.

To Mama... I had my nipples done and due to my breast size and lack of actual nipple, they never healed. I started with bars and switched to rings... To be honest, they did not hurt that much to have done, but the constant pressure of the bars against my bra was too much for me to bear. And I can't go braless... (36H)

But in terms of actual initial pain it wasn't as bad as my industrial or my nose.

I just went today and had my cartilage on my right ear done. Pics in F & G.

Tushnurse - from my research I've heard the CH piercing can be one of the easier ones to heal from because it's skin and not cartilage.

I agree with pp about seeing a respectable piercer and just talking to him/her about your concerns and options.

I had one nipple pierced for about 8 years.

It hurt like a MOFO to get done!! I wouldn't ever do it again.

That being said, the novelty and entertainment factor was pretty high.

I took it out when I had DD. I miss it.

I have a friend who got one. I think the exciting sex life she imagined never happened.
Firstly you are supposed to wear a condom when you do have sex? She was on painkillers, swollen and sore.
The daily cleaning became a chore.
Then after six weeks? you can get it changed to a smaller one.
Which involves another visit to a professional.
She then wanted it out because it did nothing for her and just got in the way.
But she couldn't get it out, was talking about using pliers at one stage.
Last I heard it fell out by itself.
Overall it was for her a waste of time and money.

Wow the responses vary greatly. I am not so sure that the pain would be that bad considering it is very thin tissue that actually gets pierced.
Although I know there are all kind of piercings that can be done in the nethers, this one seems to be the least difficult and invasive.
Trust me in my line of work, I have seen tat's and piercings that would make the toughest out there weak in the knees.
I guess this is something I will have to think about, and research some more.

A good friend has highly recommended it to me, and further, recommends, specifically, vertical piercing of the hood. It's supposed to enhance sensation more.

I drew the line with my nose.
