Poisonwood Bible is up there.

I'm currently re-reading a childhood favorite that I had forgotten about, after finding mention of it in my old diaries - Jacob Have I Loved. I remember why I loved it now, and oddly, it feels very familiar - like I've been living my dreams within it's pages for years now.

The Narnia books are like comfort food to me too. I left my copies in China with a friend when I moved, and then bought them on Kindle, and I have a separate folder just for them, and it's always near the top of the list from frequent access.

I'm not really one to read books over and over, but I do have 2 that I can read often:

Tending Roses

I re-read a lot, but I go by author, not necessarily favorite book. And it all depends on what kind of mood I'm in.

"Why Men Love Bitches",, the guide to holding your own in a relationship. I'm not ready to date, but this book has be back to thinking correctly when it comes to men...How to not go overboard with them right away, and let them pursue me, not the other way around. It's a funny book and I've read it several times. I always end up laughing at how I did everything wrong when dating WS, and how to really tell if a man is seriously flawed BEFORE getting into bed or into love with him...

Think I've read The Lord of the Rings trilogy about 9 times all told.

I gotta second "A Prayer for Owen Meany" great every time through.

"Hocus Pocus",by Kurt Vomnegut is amazing just to read in wonder at the games he plays with language and time in that story.

"High Fidelity" by Nick Hornby because that book knew more about how I as a man thought than I even consciously knew before I read it.

That last sentence didn't make sense did it?
Lol

I'm currently re-reading a childhood favorite that I had forgotten about, after finding mention of it in my old diaries - Jacob Have I Loved.

I also had this book as a child and loved it! I haven't thought about it in years. I still have many of my early books but this one is gone. I'll have to see if I can find it somewhere.

I re-read a lot but here are some favorites:

Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
The Mummy by Anne Rice

and my all time favorite and read many, many times:
River God by Wilbur Smith

If you have any interest in ancient Egypt, I cannot recommend this book enough. Its sequel The Seventh Scroll is also terrific.

Outlander Series- Diana Gabaldon
Harry Potter Series- Rowling

Can't think of anything else that has impressed me enough to re-read.

Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett

Hmmm. I see this mentioned a fair amount. I'm wondering if I should give in and finally read it.
