Yes, there is a BBQ joint just down the road from me that was featured o Diners, Drive ins and Dives. The owner and I went to high school together and she uses apple wood from her Dad's orchard in the smoker. The stuff sooo good. I have only been able to go 2 times to eat there but it certainly made a very good impression. I also have a friend who plays in a couple of local bands and makes amazing music. Love to go watch his shows. He used to play in a band with my 2 uncles so it really brings me back to band rehearsals hanging out with the family.

There had better be some update posts after all these dates!

((((Ama)))) Hope you're back up soon, honey.

I've been spending the weekend with DD on an overnight home pass. So far, it's been going GREAT! Went grocery shopping last night, grilled out, watched a movie, and laughed like crazy. Today we did some shopping, took a hike around the area's newest recreation park/lake, spent some time in the kitchen teaching her some family recipes, and now she's napping. I think I wore her out. I have to return her tonight by bedtime. Tomorrow is likely to be a lazy day as she's wearing me out a bit, too.

I have a dinner date tomorrow night, but I sure would like to go out tonight. Instead I am alone with sushi and a good bottle of wine. I almost bought myself a dozen oysters to shuck, but decided that would be decadent. Who am I fooling by thinking this way? I have no one to share them with, I have no one telling me not to spend the money, and I have no one to pick up after. Some pluses and some minuses. I am 58 and although I have been told by people that love me, I look great, I still know how old I am. I also know now that I wasted a lot of time waiting for the toad I was married to, to become a great man. Instead, he became a fat selfish slob, who has embarrassed his grown children, humiliated his 87 year old mother, and abandoned me for some really common trash, who would drag her own children through the mud to get what she wants. She can have him. She is younger, but the comparison stops there. I married down, and they will be a much better couple together. I'm looking for better, because I am. Still, I am alone tonight. I hope you young folks have a great weekend. Barbecue is not barbecue unless it is smoked. I am from Georgia and I know that.

Barbecue is not barbecue unless it is smoked. I am from Georgia and I know that.

Spoken like a true Georgia Belle!

I am in South Carolina, so unfortunately I must ride to NC or Georgia in order to escape this mustard based abomination we have here.

Post up any good "out of the way" BBQ joints that you know of. I'll be riding into Georgia this week to visit a cousin who is in Glenville. I'll probably breeze through my FAVORITE place in the whole world (even after a military career and seeing the whole world)... SAVANNAH!

Might go pick up some wine at the Habersham Winery at Helen, too. Maybe take a break from BBQ and enjoy an amazing schnitzel.

Oh, and knock off that "you young folks" nonsense. We are the same age.

I have no picture of it without me on it. However, it is a HD Road Glide.

Oh, and it's black. Because a Harley looks good in any color...

Having a fabulous weekend! Was feeling drained after the long week, so curled up with SO and watched a movie Friday night.

Saturday I got rid of the last piece of "us" and sold the car I've had for 11 years! I felt GREAT to drive away in a car the Doosh has never - and will never! -- sit in. :) Best part is that I did it by myself!

Went to see "Neighbors" and laughed our butts off! That movie is so damn inappropriate and I could not stop laughing. And when did Zac Efron get all growed up?? He has an amazing body. Wowza.

Then SO had to get kids, so I had a late dinner with my girlfriends whose husbands are out of town golfing. We drank, we cooked, and we laughed some! Fun fun!

Today I must do laundry and grade spelling and math tests. Boo. Plan to take dd13 shopping. Oh, and a nap. Definitely need to squeeze in a nap!

Ugh, ama. Hope you're feeling better.

One of my parrots had to go to the emergency vet Thursday evening so I've been nursing him back to health. He gets his stitches out tonight, one more visit in a week, and then hopefully he's 100% again.

Friday night was dinner with SO, then we were supposed to go to a book reading/signing by one of my favorite authors (it was canceled since he missed a connecting flight) so we just wandered around the bookstore a bit. Then off to a bar to see one of my friends sing in a band.

Yesterday I relaxed a bit (finally!) and SO helped me create a mini golf hole for a competition we're having at work. We had so much fun doing a project like that together.

Today I went for a run with a friend, my parents are coming up for lunch, and then a bit more time with SO as he's leaving on a business trip this week.

I have a busy week ahead, but not sure if I'll get grocery shopping and other errands done today or not, especially as I have to take my parrot back to the vet tonight and I'm not sure how long that will take.

Went to a comedy show with old roommates Friday night and had a nice walk home after. Yesterday I went to a picnic meet-up for another forum I dip my ties into, surprisingly meeting two people I know IRL there! Got a little sunburnt but a beautiful day in Central Park. Last night I gave up on being social and watched a bunch of Netflix BBC adaptations, today is biking to hang with a friend and then biking to another friend's bday cook-out. I love that it's May!!!

Enjoy your Sundays all!

Sit. Feast on your life.

T/j to correct some greivous errors by Justjim:

Allow me to retort with Hudson's Smokehouse on Hwy 378 in Lexington.

With all do respect, my ElectraGlide Standard with over 100k miles looks pretty darn good and it is black- proving your statement that "a Harley only looks good if it's black" is not entirely true.

End t/j.

Did I just enter "The Twilight Zone"?

I am still trying to interpret Jpappa's reasoning. This might take awhile

I really didn't mean to t/j the whole thread but, I understand my logic so calling it the "Twilight Zone" or the "Japapa Zone" doesn't change the reality that my logic makes no sense to me.

IrishLass, for your safety and the safety of those around you, please keep your seatbelt tightly fastend until the ride has come to a complete stop. For your own sanity, step back quickly and quietly from trying to interpret my reasoning. Idle minds are the devil's playground and I have lots of swingsets on which to sing songs from the playground of my mind.(No, my name isn't Mikey but I do have a nickle..)

Btw JustJim, keep the shiny side up.

Jpapa, I am stepping away slowly and quietly now. I don't mind the t/j though. It was a great weekend all in all and made much better by the fun and conversations here. Till next weekend all
