It kind of snuck up on me, but I wanted to share. It's been 5 years today since my last cigarette. I smoked off and on for ~15 years before I gave it up for good, and I'm never going back!

Amazing! Quitting was such a hard thing to do, I'm proud of everyone who accomplishes it!

Congratulations!
That is fantastic....good job!
Our two sons are/were both smokers (age 39 & 30). The 39 year old quit about 2 years ago, and finally our 30 year old is using his e-cigarette to use as the incentive to quit, too. H and I hope he sees the light....and enjoy the extra years of living.

Congratulations, MadeOfScars. That is wonderful.

My dear brother just had his lower leg amputated due to smoking. MisterSister quit this past January. Five months nicotine free for him. Looking forward to him having many, many years of being nicotine free.

Congrats to you! What a great accomplishment!

You actually just reminded me that I quit on Mother's Day 2006...

Thanks everybody!

looking forward - I hope your youngest son can kick the habit soon too. Ecigs are better than the real thing (as far as we know) but no nicotine is even better.

SisterMilkshake - Sorry about your brother, but MisterSister being quit for 5 months means the worst should definitely be behind him!

LisaP - Sounds like you have an anniversary coming up soon. Congrats on 8 years free!

That is a great accomplishment, you should be very proud.

I quit after three or four tries, back in 1983, so I'm 31 years free of it this spring. Don't miss it at all.
