But judging from how sick I feel today, my progesterone is probably ok.

Ahhh the sickness. The best/worst thing about a healthy pregnancy. Hoping it means your progesterone (and other hormones) are exactly where they need you to be. Will be holding you in my thoughts for your appointment.

OK here's the deal. The tech said that she was "stunned" that the baby was still there, but s/he is still there. Last week (7 days ago) measurement was 6w1d, this week was 6w6d, heart rate 133. The reason she was stunned that the baby was still there was that the rest of my uterus was full of a huge clot - her words on the report were "very large subchorionic hematoma."

So what I have to do is take it very very very easy and hope that the clot absorbs into my body.

It's worrisome that I should be 8 weeks along and the baby is only measuring slightly under 7. I didn't think those two things (that and the bleeding) were related but my doctor said that if the fetus is abnormal, the placenta could be developing abnormally and contribute to the clot. Or it could be totally unrelated and Tiny is just a late implanter. Whatever. I'm still in limbo but the baby is still there. I didn't leave it in Florida like I feared; its little heart is still beating and it's still hanging on. My doctor said if this ends poorly he can refer me to a high-risk doctor and pursue testing. I am afraid that's what the outcome is going to be, but I'm still holding onto hope for this little guy who keeps surprising me.

(((Jana)))
Come on sister with all the SI mojo headed your way this babybean has a waaay better chance than most.

I know it must be very difficult. Any lost time in development due to this will be made up later on. Or you may just make smaller than average babies. Not such a bad thing, especially in 8 months when you are due.

prayers, mojo, warm wishes, all heading your way.

Hi Jana,

I wanted to give you a success story - I had sub chorionic hematomas with two of my six pregnancies, with bleeding much heavier than a period and lasting for months. My daughter and son were both born healthy despite it all! Each of my three miscarriages involved a lot less bleeding than those two pregnancies. Hang in there! All three of mine also measured small throughout the pregnancies, which just meant for more ultrasounds - and more glimpses of them!

Good luck - it is stressful, I know.

((Jana)) I'm just seeing this post now, but my thoughts are with you. Having experienced this myself, I know the agony and worry you are going through. Hoping everything turns out ok for you and that little bean is just a slow starter.

Thinking of you Jana!

I had this with my first. Bleeding, she always measured small (weeks behind). She ended up being born three weeks early and was bitty (5 lbs.), but zero health issues. She's a happy, healthy and very intelligent 12 year old now.

Sending many prayers and positive thoughts to you and your little one!
