It was so good! They showed the pilot Saturday night, maybe they'll do it again for this episode.

I caught the last 15 minutes of it last night before Mad Men, and thought it looked really good.

Now that Breaking Bad is history, TWD is gone till October, and Mad Men will only have 7 or 8 episodes before it breaks, I thought I should develop an interest in another show - like Turn - to get me through.

I missed the pilot - can you please bring me up to speed?

Pretty please?

I love anything to do with the American Revolution. I especially love that this series is set (or at least begins) in Setauket on Long Island--not far from where I grew up. Here's the synopsis from wiki:

In 1776 and 1777, a Setauket, New York farmer and his childhood friends form an unlikely group of spies, called the Culper Ring, who eventually turn the tide during the American Revolutionary War.[1] The series begins in October 1776, shortly after British victories recaptured Long Island, Staten Island, and New York City for the Crown and left General George Washington's army in desperate straits...
According to the first episode: "Autumn 1776, Insurgents have declared war against the Crown. Following a successful naval landing, His Majesty's Army has forced Washington's rebels into the wilderness. New York City serves as military base of operations for the British. The Loyalists of nearby Long Island keep vigilant watch out for sympathizers, and spies."

The X and I used to have discussions about how our sympathies would have played out. He contends that he would have been a Tory. I would have been a rebel and a spy--so this is near and dear to one of my past lives...

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.
