Please give me some advice. My (I thought) FWH is at a trade show. I was with him over the past days and returned home yesterday. His cell phone called at 3:19, and I listened to metallic gibberish for a minute before it disconnected. Maybe a TV? I called him back, he said he was in his hotel room, in bed. I hung up on him. I'm done. Please, give me strength.

Does he use his phone as an alarm clock?

Does he normally keep it at his nightstand?

Did he sound like you just woke him up?

Has he done anything recently that has made you question his activities?

No.
No.
Not really. But remember, the call had just awakened me.
Yes, he still works with the office hooker.

He also never has the phone on ring while he is around me. I cannot wrap my mind any reasonable explanation for this. He also hasn't tried to contact me again. I thought we were in R.

My FWH has pocket dialed me a few times in the last few months. Im not sure how it happens, but it has. I have also pocket dialed him a time or two.

It's possible it was absolutely nothing.

BUT..he said he was in bed in the hotel room. Was he using his phone at the time? They don't pocket dial unless they've been touched...it certainly didn't pocket dial you from the nightstand. Check his phone records.

AND.. he works with the office whore. I take it he is away on business? And where is the whore? I would try and find out if she was on the trip(from someone other than your WH).

Listen to your gut.

All heard was a noise.... A steady noise but I couldn't make out the words. The best I can describe it is like the kind of voice on a weather radio. Metallic. The call lasted a minute and I couldn't make out any words. Maybe a TV in the background? Then it disconnected from me. I called him back.

My gut says He was up to no good. Confused615, you are right. He was doing something with that phone. At 3:19 AM. There is no reasonable explanation.

And yes, she is there. Different hotel, not that it matters. I'm so stupid.

Do these trade shows involve a lot of alcohol after hours?

Yes. I was texting him up til 9:45. He was watching the voice. I had the show on at home but I wasn't paying too much attention. I was reading.

I think what really bothers me in this scenario, is that he hasn't tried to contact you after you hung up. The emotional comfort of the BS would be a priority in R.

Thank you, refuz. Last d-Day almost 3 years ago he blew up the phone texting me. We did 2+ years MC and he did 2 years IC. When I left yesterday to come home he looked me in the eyes and said he wouldn't let me down.

As far as I know, cell phones don't just randomly choose to call people when they've been set down on the nightstand and their owner is sound asleep.

There had to have been some kind of interaction between him and the phone in order to create that random 'pocket' dial call to you - but it may not have been sinister. It's entirely possible that he had the phone in bed with him (talking to you before going to sleep for the night, or perhaps surfing porn?) and fell asleep with it in the bed. When he turned over at 3 am he may have laid on the buttons, causing the phone to dial the 'last number dialed.'

I'm just saying it's a possibility.

I hope you're able to get to the bottom of it.

Just to put it out there, my phone will routinely dial random people from my "recent calls" list during updates. It has happened the last two updates. Of course when it happens, according to the 'dialees', it is just dead silence on the phone. No noise whatsoever.

Yes, he said he had too much to drink and doesn't remember me calling him back. Big problem right there!! So maybe he did have it on the bed, and he rolled on it and dialed me (last calls were to me, according to him) and the noise I heard was the TV. But I did ask him where the phone was this AM and he said "on the dresser", which is opposite the bed. Perhaps he got up to use the can after I called him back and moved it? I told him he needs to get me his phone record (company phone) and he responded "no problem". AAAARRRGH!

To add: he also seemed clueless this morning. He texted me "good morning". By then I was so upset I texted him "you have to be f**king have to be kidding me" he responded "why do you say that".

Oh shoot NeverAgain2013. It's not possible that he could roll over and auto-dial. It's an iPhone and I have the passcode. ETA: clearly I'm not thinking straight

I was just talking to a friend of mine who also has an IPhone. She told me she needs to get a new one because the one she has keeps making random calls on its own to a client of hers. Not sure if that's what is going on but I thought I would throw it out there.

Cissi, do you know if your friends phone does this when it is locked down? Or if the client can hear anything? Thanks
