How do you do it? Work- decompress drive home- make dinner- homework- get the kids to bed - collapse?

I realized that there are only 24 hours a day. How are you always on and what helps?

I need to create a life. I am cutting back and trying to pay down credit cards. I don't really shop but my time and energy are limited.

How do you know your kids are getting what they need?

I try to get as much done when the kids are with their father as possible.

I do batch cooking. Almost all my dinners are from scratch, but totally not fancy. For example, make ziti, double batch, divide in smaller containers and freeze. I have a separate large freezer in basement. Make muffins and freeze, waffles, etc. I have a couple of freezer cookbooks, helped a ton.

I am "on" from the time I pick the kids up at their after school program until the last kid is bed. I've just learned that is how it is. Luckily my kids help me in different ways. My daughter loves to cook with me. My son does bigger tasks (garbage, recycling, bringing in the wood, etc).

I have a fiance that I see when I don't have the kids and sometimes with them. He helps me out when he can, but he is almost an hour away.

Tonight, drive home from work in snow, pick up kids from their dad's, shovel, unload car, bring in wood, start dinner, vac when dinner cooking, try to unfreeze pipe, start load of laundry, serve dinner, and now chilling for a sec while kids are watching tv (no school tom ) so normally homework time. Then baths, etc.

How do I know kids are alright? Good question. Doing well at school, and haven't killed each other.

Forgot to mention is what is lacking is time with my friends. I am soooo tired and so broke. Makes it hard. That is probably my hardest thing to tackle.

I think you are amazing to balance all of that- I was just speaking of driving home and cooking dinner

I hope I have the strength!

Truthfully it's almost easier for me to just stay on and keep going. I don't think about the hot mess my life has become or how much I want to ahem, screw every hot guy I see because weeha I'm single. Just keep swimming just keep swimming. I do a lot of stuff while the two oldest are with their dad, but I always have the baby. I figure I can start going out in 7-8 years. :). Some nights though once that last kid is in bed you have to decompress. Leave the dishes till tomorrow and the laundry. Nobody will die from wearing the same socks or underwear. It get easier the longer you go. I just made it through three bouts of stomach bug, bronchitis and ear infections, all while working full time. Good days bad days.
My kids are fine, I think.
