My wife and I welcomed triplet girls in november after several years of trying. Yeeessss

Anyways, I'm planning a week long get-a-way, I've planned everything. Talked to her office manager to clear her appt. (She is a dentist). My mother is coming to care for the girls.

I wanted it to be a secret, but now I'm second guessing and thinking I should clear it with her. We are fairly late in the game to be first time parents, being both our second marriages with no kids from the first. Maybe its too soon. She only took off work a couple weeks and she trys to spend as much time as she can with the girls. While I've been off work since their birth, and not sure I'm going back to work at all. I've spent all my time being DAD.

I can only speak for myself, but no way would I have wanted to be away from my 2-3 month old infants for even a day or two let alone a whole week.

I think you'd best talk to her about it. Don't be surprised if she'd be glad to be home with the kids for a week, but not want to go on a get-a-way.

Yes, I hadn't given it much thought until afterwards.
