Tred had ALWAYS wanted a greenhouse and we FINALLY have one! He finished putting it together Sunday and we started loading it up with plants!

We still have lots to do on the outside but it is whats inside that really counts!

It is our new hobby!

That is so awesome! I can't imagine the work your hubby had to do to assemble it.

This is the OT forum but it does remind me of the greenhouse from the movie The Hand That Rocks the Cradle. Make sure the skylights are secure!

Factual error: When Marlene goes to the greenhouse and is killed by the falling glass, this would never have happened. It is a federal law that all greenhouses, skylights, and entry-ways are to be made of safety glass. The glass would have to have been made of either a Tempered glass, which breaks in a thousand pieces, like a car window, or Laminated glass, which cracks but does not fall apart, like a car windshield. Neither one of these glasses would have killed her. Surely, law abiding citizens like Clare and her Husband would have followed the zoning laws that came along with building their greenhouse.

No worries, the glass is 6mm UV protected twin-wall raw polycarbonate panels.

Wow - good thing they did not come to my place a few years ago. My house was originally a floral shop that had two greenhouses attached when we got it...probably a good 100 feet long and thirty feet wide. My glass was definely not safety glass. During bad storms it would shatter into jagged shards. If one of those had fallen out of the sky part, it would of killed me.

I ripped them all down but think I will still find pieces of glass in my yard fifty years from now.
