So, what's on your agendas?

Me?

I GET TO HUG MY BOY!!!

He's coming in town on Sunday, we're spending the whole day together getting our football fix on and then on Monday, we'll chill out before I take him back to the airport.

I'm so damn excited - can you tell?

Two more sleeps...two more sleeps...two more sleeps...

Glad you get to see your son. I know how excited I get when I see mine.

I'm a member of a veteran's service organization, so my weekend will be very busy.

Tomorrow we are going to the local Walmart to solicit donations for our veteran's gift bags that we take each year to the local VA Medical Center for Christmas. We give shoppers a list of personal items that are safe to give the veterans (soaps, lotions, hair products, mouthwash with no alcohol, etc.) Then while the shopper is getting their own items, they may pick up a few of the items on the list and hand them to us as they leave. Last year we received enough items to make gift bags for every patient in the hospital (including the PTSD ward and the long-term care ward) with left over items that went to another VA hospital in our state. We also received monetary donations of $800 which we used to provide canteen coupons and phone cards so the patients can phone friends and loved ones.

Sunday is a cleaning day as we are hosting a group of friends Monday evening.

On Monday we will help stage a veteran's parade in our home town, put up American flags surrounding a veteran's memorial at a local park, and drive to a nearby small town that does a veteran's program at the school.

We spend a lot of time throughout the year supporting veterans, but this is a special time of year for us.

Ajs mom, good for you enjoy!

Today I am teaching German, my favorite thing to do workwise. Then getting DDs and possibly treating them to dinner. After that planning to snuggle on the couch with fur baby and watching Tom Selleck in Blue Bloods.

Tomorrow some beauty treatment for DD16 and school project for DD11. In the evening best friend and I will go 'over the hill', local speak for heading inland to more exciting places.

Sunday morning I will return to church, I am so excited. Then hanging out with DDs and a Margarita party with some new girlfriends in the afternoon.

Not too bad I guess. For some reason I was dreading the weekend thinking I had nothing to look forward to and low and behold...

I LOVE your post, ajsmom! So much excitement, it made me . Enjoy!!

NL, thank you for all you are doing for our Veterans! It's important for them and so satisfying for those who do it.

For me, ATM I am avoiding getting back to all the cleaning out, sorting, packing, organizing I NEED to do. I'm doing it in spurts and taking breaks. This will be through Sunday. Monday I will spend the day with DGD and DGS having fun. Evening will be back to more of getting things done.

Happy Birthday, Cayc & WB's DD!

Ajsmom, I hope you have a terrific weekend with your boy.

DD and I are going to the farmer's market around the corner to stock up on honey crisp apples. Then we need to check in on my sister's cat while she's away. The kitten we are fostering will be with us a little bit longer. Happy yet dreading her leaving.

Just finished up a couple of assignments for my master's course.

Tomorrow volunteering at a 5K then house cleaning, laundry, dishes, some more coursework and then the afternoon checking out a friend's new house.

Sat evening I'm taking off and doing NOTHING but veg on the couch with a bottle of wine and some True Blood episodes from last year that I haven't caught up on.

Sunday - grading papers, more coursework, and rescuing Teslet from the bowels of chaos.

It was very hot here today, around 35C/95F, so we went out for our favourite breakfast then went for a nice long swim (the sad clown has moved so no longer overlooks the pools in my complex - yay!).

Tomorrow we're going to see a Flight of the Butterflies in 3D, lunch in the City, do some more swimming and/or take our scooters for a spin around the park and maybe even plant some new strawberries since the cheeky Catsos pulled up our last patch (and our baby carrots!) then get ready for school on Monday.

The ONLY upside of 50/50 is that I don't do a single bit of housework when the girls are with me. I pre-prepare weekend meals and always plan one part of it that they help with and weekday meals are super-quick and healthy with one, maybe two eating out nights depending on whether or not I'm being slammed at work and haven't had a chance to pre-prepare.

I may have reached a point where I'd piss on him if he was on fire.... eventually!!

Painting my bedroom FINALLY. And I'm going to paint it purple because I can.

Went out last night with some women from my new job. Didn't feel like it at the end of the day because I had to stay late and I live further away than they do, but it was REALLY fun and I'm so glad I did.

Oh and schoolwork, yeah that.

Well, AJsMom, your weekend trumps mine!

But, I took my dog to the groomer (he looks awesome now), and now I am making a festive birthday for GDM. Lamb, pasta-lentil casserole, Brussels sprouts and a very decadent chocolate birthday cake. Oh, and homemade sourdough bread, too.
