Frustrated  Posted: 12:26 PM, November 4th (Monday), 2013View ProfileEdit MessagePrivate MessageHomepage

I am a walking zombie right now! I usually write the Pigskin Picks update over lunch - I don't think I can put two coherent thoughts together right now.

I didn't sleep well because despite having that "extra hour", I was freaked I'd sleep through my alarm and I had to take my car in early this morning.

It's easily gonna take me a couple of days, maybe even a week to adjust.

The older I get, the more I hate this. Let's get serious folks, I know it's done so kids don't have to board the bus in the dark and a favorite of other stupid reasons.

Well, too damn bad! Back in my day, we had to WALK to school, in the dark, through snow, sleet or hail and we survived!

See what I mean?

"Favorite" should be VARIETY.

OMG.

Back in my day, we had to WALK to school, in the dark, through snow, sleet or hail and we survived!
And it was uphill both ways! And we had to fight off the polar bears with our three-ring notebooks! And snow days? Don't even get me started on snow days.

I don't mind the falling back. It's the springing ahead that does me in

I don't mind falling back as much as springing forward. But it still has me slightly out of whack. I am hungry at the wrong times and sleepy at the wrong times. I'm such a creature of habit!

But I would really prefer to stay on DST year round because I like the sunlight at the end of my work day. Now I will be going home in the dark. And that makes me want to hibernate.

ditto. Can't we just stay at DST all year?

(raising hand)

me.

I'm awake a 5am; which would be 6am which is my normal time.

By 5pm I'm dragging.

My eyes are bloodshot and I'm lethargic at best.

And my old dog who has diabeties is all messed up with the time change.

Yeah, I hate it.
And the worst is having a little kid that wakes up at 4:30 in the morning saying it's time to get up.

I would rather stay on standard time ALL year because I cannot get going in the morning in the pitch dark.

I carry a small flashlight everywhere because I'm a pedestrian and I want everyone to know I'm in the damn crosswalk.

Saw three cyclists with no lights, two with dark clothing and one with headphones on. Sheesh, people, get a clue!

It's so sudden, this early dark thing.

But just think, only another few weeks to Dec 21, then the planet tilts back again.

It's 8:19 and I'm heading for bed to snooze the long evening away.

Me too! Aside from the desire to hibernate, I have a tendency to eat in preparation for it. ughhh.

There is nothing like having 4 corgis tell you that it's time to get up, but it's an hour early.

The good news is that we're all ready to go to bed at the same time now.
