I hope someone can help me out with this situation

Ex and I separated in 2007, divorced in 2010.

He is living in the marital home. I wanted nothing to do with it anyway.

I am the sole mortgage holder, but he is on the title.

I received an email from home insurance company indicating that ex cancelled policy with them and went somehwhere else to procure home insurance.

I'm fine with that, but I was wondering if when you obtain home insurance, doesn't that mortgaged holder have to be on the insurance papers somwhere?

Also, wouldn't I have to sign something in order to get this new insurance?

Thanks for any help.

I'd call your agent to be sure. If he wasn't entirely truthful about everything, you could get screwed really badly if there is a big loss of some kind.

Any change of you getting off the mortgage any time soon?

Thank you for the response.

I will be keeping in contact with my mortgage company to see when the new insurance papers are faxed over and make sure my name is on it.

Ack! No, no end in sight. I wish he'd sell the freakin' thing.
