Blow dryers??? You remember setting your hair with empty frozen orange juice cans--or if it was really long--empty one-pound coffee cans in order to straighten it!

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

OK I'll play
I remember when ATARI was all the rage and you didn't need a masters in engineering to play a video game
When parents showed KIDS how to WORK GADGETS. (My 6th grader is helping me with my new phone)
When rap had lyrics besides n---, b---- and ho
VCRs
Cassette tapes

Cassette tapes? Try 8-track tapes.
And this Batman and Robin:

I remember 8-tracks and that Batman and Robin. I also remember Atari.

Here's one for the more "mature" members - actual penny candy. A pop that cost 2 bits out of the machine. Pop in glass bottles that you could return for a nickle (or 10 cents). Pull tabs on either beer or pop cans.

For the smokers, a pack of name brands that cost 45 cents.

I'm sure there's more but I can't think of them right now.

ETA: you may be getting old if you know the meaning of the term "L7" - as in "He/she/they are so L7".

Watching The Hardy Boys (not re-runs) on TV.

Being infatuated with Shaun Cassidy and being jealous of my sister for having a poster of him in her room. And of course, singing along to his famous Do-Run-Run song.

Buying a 12-inch B&W TV for my bedroom and my friend being jealous of it as we watched, sitting on my waterbed.

Roller-skating at the 'Rink every Saturday night. BTW, I recently found a roller skating rink in nearby town and I found that I still have the moves! What fun it's been!!

any former-roller-skaters will get this...knowing the words to Rappers Delight

Being impressed when the first fast-food chain came to town and had a DRIVE-THRU window.

Renting, not owning, our telephone from Ma-Bell.

Watching slideshows with my family from the slide projector.

My first cell-phone, was a big ol' flip-phone, and as my sister put it, the size of a man's shoe.

Knowing the difference between leaded and unleaded gas-pumps.

Learning to type on a manual typewriter at home but in school on the oh-so-cool electric version!

yikes, my list could go on and on...

but just for the record, I don't think of myself as old!

TRD, you just reminded me of something else. The "ding-ding" as you pulled up to the pump, waaaay back in the day when an attendant pumped the gas for you.

Slight t/j: I watched Emergency! on Netflix a while back and had to pause an episode because I couldn't quite believe the price of gas it showed - 54 cents/gallon for self-serve, 64 cents/gallon for full service. I was thinking "Damn, people would KILL for those prices these days..."

I still do this with my Mom and Dad's slides from all the vacations we took when I was a kid.

Paneled station wagon with a U-Haul bubble on top. Oh, yeah.

YES! And sitting in the way back, facing backwards, pretending to drive and getting semi trucks to honk!

Aw, the seventies, when seatbelts were an option and cb radios were the coolest thing ever!

Okay now you're just making shit up to screw with us.

Pull tabs on either beer or pop cans.
Slight t/j: I watched Emergency! on Netflix a while back and...

I still remember the episode where the emergency was the guy dropped his pull tab into his beer can and then accidentally drank said pull tab and choked.

Oh, yeah! The wayback ruled. I had so many siblings, we rotated seating on road trips so everyone got a shot at the wayback.

omg, ^^^^ this! yes, we did that too. Ahh, the good ol' family trips in the '68 station wagon.

sitting in back of pickup truck in garden-style ROCKING chairs as we headed to the lake parents would be accused of neglect doing that today!

those pesky optional-to-use seatbelts in cars.

walking to kindergarten 1/2 mile away,by myself,at 4 years old.
