I'm getting out of here.
Maybe when they are teenagers they will hate me and not talk to me.
Probably. But they will talk NEAR you on the phone.
PS: I hate Minecraft... I think that game is evil.
OH sweet Jiminy Minecraft, has prevented many chores from getting done this summer!!! I know it helps them use their minds, but seriously it's like digital legos.
Anyway, I hear you.

(I'm right there with you. Interrupted twice while typing th--- three times. *sob*)
I know it helps them use their minds, but seriously it's like digital legos.
Minecraft helps them use their minds??? All DS talks about is running away from SlenderMan and sh*t like that.
DD8 talks to you. And expects you to engage and interact. DD4 does a better job of talking to herself or just making up stories. She is also very awesome at playing with dolls and figures and making up stories and doing voices. But it's still talking. DD22 months is like Stewie Griffin...mom mom mommy ma mom momma. Then she says something in gibberish and gets upset if I say I have no clue what you are saying. Sometimes it's important things like, "waffle! Butter!"

We had them play "graveyard". The objective? Everyone lays down on the floor and pretends they are in a graveyard. If you move or speak, you lose.
Yeah, it only lasted about 2 - 3 minutes at the most, before the most active ones just HAD to talk or make some sort of noise. But it was 2 - 3 minutes of blessed QUIET!
This is the kind of thing that, looking back, makes me realize WHY it always took my mom so long to find us kids when we played hide-and-go-seek.
TCD sounds like your middle one is destined to a life of living a musical - My 14 yo DD was like that too, and she is a singing, acting fool. She can make up songs about anything. Kinda like Wayne Brady on whose line is it. Although hers aren't usually that funny.
Thren - I feel your pain, I look forward to work, for my quiet time. Is that sad?
MINECRAFT - Oh where do I begin? My 14 yo sets it in Safe mode, and builds these amazing houses, and decorates them, I think in the kids mind it looks different than what I am seeing, because when her 16yo brother sees it he is all oooh and ahhh. My H and I are like, those graphics suck. My 16 yo gets on xbox live with friends, and they build giant things, and then blow them up from what I can tell. I think the draw is that it's simple but they see results.
I can say if I come home from work one more day and there are dirty dishes in the sink, and no chores done and one of them are playing X box it's going to be bad, very bad for them. Thinking of throwing the damn thing down into the woods!!!
