(((Lighthouse)))

I just popped by for my monthly lurking and saw this thread- I will be thinking of you. I know you must be getting the results from the last procedure back soon.

Well lets hope this is the last bad news update and that from here on out things go as they should...

Met with GP today for the results of abdominal biopsy. Already had an appointment booked with the Oncologist for afterwards so I had an inkling it was not all clear.

The biopsy returned as matastic malignant melanoma. Not what I'd hoped but there you go...and there is a plan.

Full CT to ensure no head or pelvic spread. Cancer class so I know what to expect, seeing a dermatologist as I have psoriasis and we need to work in conjunction with him as one of the drug therapys will involve auto immune stuff and psorisis is immune system related and could throw it for a loop...and the biggie is chemo will start as soon as next week.

Because there was no CT scan done back in July when this thing was removed, they don't know how agressive this tumour in the belly is and because it is lymph nodes and the body's superhighway he's hitting hard and fast.

It's not going to be easy I don't think. Considering I'm not sick and have no symptoms I'm hopefull this is slow and early times and all will be well.

If I can handle infidelity twice...beating cancer should be a piece of cake ...gawd now I want cake lol

I will update as stuff happens and if I get in a funk.

Thank you for being here and keeping me in your prayers.

I release the past so I am free to fight for my future unencumbered.

(((Lighthouse))) Sending healing wishes.

I had a clark level 3 malignant melanoma 29 years ago. They removed much of the surrounding tissues and all the lymph nodes in that area, but I'm still kicking. I know they have come a long way since my surgery. Like you, I was very frightened, but it sounds like you're in good hands.

Well I'm still waiting on a full staging CT scan. Had a bone scan on Friday. They've given me a date 4 weeks out for the CT and I'm not happy about it. You don't tell someone if your not agressive with the treatment they might not be here in six months and then wait two or three before anything starts! Waiting on call back from oncologist himself - the office was not aware of the date I was given for CT.
In the meantime I have my fuck cancer hair...hot pink streaks lol/ it's either going to grow out or fall out when the chemo comes lol.

Good thing I didn't start eating the cake yet. I'd be gaining weight and that's not the aim here.

Trying to stay "up"...looking into visualization techniques...they say it's helpful during chemo to "see" the bad cells being destroyed.

Will update again soon. :)

Hi, lighthouse.

What's the word on that full CT? Do you know the name of the chemo they'll use?

Sending cancer fighting mojo to you!!

Go ahead and have as much cake as you want and don't worry about weight gain. Chemo is really rough, so you may not feel like eating and you WILL lose weight, regardless of whether you're eating or not. If you're close to your ideal weight, I would suggest trying to put on a few pounds to make it easier on your body.
