LosFer, the girl on the label looks uncomfortably similar to my wife. And she looks a little "wayward", so there's that. But I'm not triggering. Instead my mouth is watering for a Little Sumpin. And it's only 1:45 p.m. out here.

Damn.

Have a great weekend, gents.

I love Lagunitas. I got me a couple of those mason jars.

Sorry about that, Sal. My plan was to contrast with the "Yeti" that I posted last week.

I'm in the same time zone that you are, but it has been a long week. I might base my happy hour on eastern time.

I agree, ForwardMotion. Lagunitas is awesome.

Spent a couple very pleasant afternoons in their beer garden last year.

I just wish Russian River exported to Texas (or anywhere, for that matter).

We have at least one store here in my area of Colorado that I know of that sells Russian River. I just saw some Pliny on the shelf the other week. It's been awhile since I've had one. I may have to revisit their brews sometime soon.

Nice. I could probably survive on Pliny. I've actually contemplated a road trip to Santa Rosa to bring a couple cases back, Smokey and the Bandit style.

It's a good time to be a craft beer nut.

I hardly ever buy the same beer twice in row, last one I picked up was the pump house sampler pack, ranged from really hop heavy to shoulda just had a glass of water, it goes to the might buy again pile.

So with the A, work stress, money issues (wife hurt herself so can't work for couple weeks), and the other junk a guy has to put up with, I went to my doc and he prescribed me Ciprelax. Said it would also help with my ADHD. I was just wondering if any of you guys have had taken it or know about it. I haven't really taking any prescription mess since I was fourteen and quit taking Ritalin cause that shit made me a ghost, and I am kinda wary o the same thing happening.

Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks guys.

SG, awesome stuff.

Due to some of the more onerous job duties I've got, I had to have my first Jack and Coke prior to 8 am. Then hit a golf ball around for 5 hours. lol.

Actually, it really was for work!!! PR stuff. Going to be a looong day!

Sometimes the 60 hr+ weeks pay off.

(would have preferred cash!)

SK - I don't know about that one. I was having mild panic attacks and numbness in extremities in the first year after DDay. My doc prescribed Xanax which worked pretty well for me. I didn't really have any side effects and it was no problem coming off it.

Good luck bro. No shame in pharma help.

Stillkicking, my son takes Methylphenidate and it really helps. He took Ritalin for awhile but while it helped him out at first, over time it really didn't make much difference.

Cipralex = Lexapro, which is an SSRI.

There's been some recent neurological study on ADD linking it to reduced dopamine reward production in the brain, which means the reason it's hard to pay attention is because your brain doesn't dope you up like it does other people. So anti-depressants can help with ADD even if you aren't depressed. Lexapro doesn't give you a 24 hour boner the way Bupropion does though.

edit:

I meant, like, your brain doesn't dope you up like OTHER PEOPLES brains dope OTHER PEOPLE up. I wasn't trying to suggest your brain was giving all its dopamine to other brains. Like the generous hippy brain. Dude, try some. Shit, I'm out again.

eta again:

The Lexapro did something bad to me but I don't remember what. I do remember "Give it a few weeks to take" and then "Okay no more of that for you" a few weeks later. Some kind of adverse effect. Not like the stuff they put me on for arthritis back when. Not that bad. That shit, you know the horrible stuff on the label where it says "Side effects may include: dick falls off, grows teeth and eats your shoes; ears swell to the size of watermelons; may experience sad moments while pooping; exciting dreams that end with a vagina that has teeth" that kind of stuff, I got all those from that stuff. coffee-grounds like vomit? Yes. Yes, you KNOW when that happens. You look at that label and think "Heh, less than 2% of the people who take this shit, NOT ME" and then there you are, 20 years old, thinking "What the fuck does life have in store for me if I am dealing with side effects from a common anti inflammatory for horrible arthritis BLEARARRARGHohman did that come out of my MOUTH I HAVE NOT SEEN PROMETHEUS YET BECAUSE IT IS 15 YEARS IN THE FUTURE BUT THIS IS XENOMORPH GOO" and then I totally forgot all about it because I was 20 years old and there was a girl willing to be naked with me in the bedroom despite the sounds coming from the bathroom were something like the sounds a brontosaurus would make if it were being eaten alive by another dinosaur that was actually real at some point.

I don't think I've had any other really bad side effects though. I might have. I can't remember atm.

SG - Laugh out loud awesome! My son was asking me what is so funny!? He's not ready for *the talk* yet so I had to make up something a whole lot less entertaing. His response - "That's not that funny. You're kinda weird Dad, but I love you anyway."

You sure? That shit got ether in it? Cuz....

“The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge"

I imagine when explaining an ether binge it would include a statement like

sounds coming from the bathroom were something like the sounds a brontosaurus would make if it were being eaten alive by another dinosaur that was actually real at some point.

Just wondering

All this talk about superheroes and Star Wars, no wonder your wives fucked around on you guys. Now if I could only figure out why my wife would do that in spite of my awesomeness.

/gallows humor.

BTW, since Dday my opinion has shifted away from Stark to Captain America. Amazing how values mean so much more when you see up close and personal the destruction a lack of values brings.

may experience sad moments while pooping;

This is about the funniest sentence that I have read in about a month.

I like it so much I think I might just steal it. The title of my new semi autobiographical novel about surviving infidelity:

Never did ether. Never really did anything that wasn't prescribed to me. I don't understand the appeal of using chemicals to see shit that isn't there. Read a book, fuck drugs.

All this talk about superheroes and Star Wars, no wonder your wives fucked around on you guys. Now if I could only figure out why my wife would do that in spite of my awesomeness.

You know what's funny about this (besides the gallows humor bit) is that I rarely see that attitude in real life. I don't share my situation with other people so it's not a personal reception, it's an attitude in general. Alone with another guy on a beer run or those rare occasions I am gathered with other gentlemen in a group with some beers, whenever the topic of infidelity comes up it's always met either with scorn for the cheater or sympathy for the betrayed.

I guess it comes with the company kept. Also makes you think about how you see the world not just with your own eyes but through the views of others you stand by.

Wait that was too coherent I MEAN FLYING DINOSAURS LIKE TO FUCK IN THE SKY IMAGINE THE POOPSTAIN ON you know what, if gravity really is a thermodynamic entropic force then could you make a material that could absorb gravity similar to a material that absorbs temperature?

eta:

You can take that sad poop if you want and use it how you wish. A sad poop that brings a smile is a happy poop indeed.

SG
Didn't mean to imply. That whole wonderful synopsis on Lexapro felt like it could have been a deleted scene out of the movie Fear and Loathing Las Vegas
hence the Hunter S Thompson quote.
Ranks right up there with Fight Club for memorable quotes in my book

On a twisted note:

I sometimes see us, when speaking of the OM and in particular about confronting him, say things like "in the he still will have fucked my wife." I know it's not the real intent, but it might be inferred that speaker is suggesting that he has somehow "bettered" us.

Ironically, having gone through this and given way too much thought to it, I see how easy it would be to go around committing adultery with married women. I even told my wife OM had laid out the blueprint for me.

Find an insecure married woman, listen to her, find where she is discontent and commence the fraud. Nothing could be easier.

Having said that, I never contemplated such before this disaster and I damn sure would not do it now that I know firsthand the pain it brings. I am the last person any married man would have t worry about messing around with his wife. Hell, even the mildest of flirtations is out of the question.

I didn't want to bring it up, but since Later broached the subject: BM 10 was all about the military, tanks, and transformers displaying the middle finger while getting ready to kick some serious ass. We also started squabbling amongst ourselves. It was fun as hell.

BM 11 seemed kind of neutral, but BM 12 has taken a bit of a nerdy turn. Just shows what a diverse group we have, right?

I was thinking about you guys on the drive home just now. Mostly what you were doing and what you were drinking, and wishing we could all get together. At that moment ELO's "Evil Woman" came on. Coincidence?
