~ LETTING GO ~

~ To let go doesn't mean to stop caring:
it means I can't do it for someone else.

~ To let go is not to cut myself off;
it is the realization that I can't control another.

~ To let go is not to enable,
but to allow learning from natural consequences.

~ To let go is to admit powerlessness,
which means the outcome is not in my hands.

~ To let go is not to try to change or blame another;
I can only change myself.

~ To let go is not to care for,
but to care about.

~ To let go is not to fix,
but to be supportive.

~ To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.

~ To let go is not to be in the middle arranging outcomes,
but to allow others to effect their own outcomes.

~ To let go is not to be protective;
it is to permit another to face reality.

~ To let go is not to deny,
but to accept.

~ To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue,
but to search out my own shortcomings and to correct them

~ To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and to cherish the moment.

~ To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.

~ To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.

~ To let go is to fear less and love more.

Let go today and free yourself...

Faith,
I am getting the chills reading your post, I feel like you did it for ME!
It's exactly what I am struggling with and 2 people last week tried to help me with it. But, this says it perfectly for me.
I am printing it out right now for my mirror.
Thank you kindly for this beautiful post! I would love to give you a ride in the pink jeep as a thanks......!
I feel a little better right now after reading and thinking about the message. I know I am ready to let go of some things and be free of the burdens I am carrying around. Thanks for the nudge to do just that!
I hope you have a lovely day!
Take care,

Dear Pink

I am glad it was a source of inspiration for you. Yes, us SI'ers certainly learn from one another and it is great to have this family of support.

Letting go of the hurt takes time and I still struggle at times but when and if you can it is truly a gift to yourself.

We will never fully understand how our WS chose to cheat and hurt us but we can learn to accept it and decide how we can move forward.

I'd love a ride in your pink jeep too. Sounds fun.

Thanks for your kind words.

Faith,
I am just shocked and surprised at just how long and painful this journey has been. I'm not normally a patient person and this has taken every ounce I have!
I too feel I still have a long way to go rachelc, but at least I can say I keep moving?! Maybe if we let go a little at a time when we are ready to do so, it will get better. That's my hope anyway.
Over the 4th I went on a long jeep ride, top off, (not mine of course, lol!) and talk about letting go! Music blasting, wind in your hair, nothing better!
Thanks again!

Hang in there Rachel. It is a long hard journey but you can make it. One day at a time.

(((healthy hugs)))

Pink,

I SOOOO agree with this.

When I travel across the statem to get DGD, I put the top down, (got a BUG), hat on, cruise control, music LOUD and absolutely LOVE IT!! Sing my heart out b/c no one can hear me! I have never thought of it as "letting go" time, but it definitely is. Of course it also is my "thinking of the damn A" time too! But that is getting less and less.

wow....that is sooo cool! And my statement shows you that I would not have come up with what you wrote on my own.

Thank you for sharing and for helping me out.

God be with us all.

Still,
Try Tina Turner "Simply the Best", works every time to give you a break from thinking about the damn A! When I was young my parents used to on occasion say "damn it to hell", odd but I can now relate.
I actually rock a pink bandana which makes me feel even cooler, lol!
I just want to say that I am even feeling excited thinking about what I am ready to let go of! What will be first.....?
