I just noticed the two options on a member's profile, for "following" them, and "forgetting" them.... sorry if I missed it, but what are these used for?

From a post MH started in Gen...

This is a new feature for platinum users. You can follow or forget a user by clicking the links in their profile. This is visible on the regular site as well as SImplicity.
If you follow a user, a link to their profile will appear in your profile and their threads and posts will be highlighted on the forums.

If you forget a user their threads and posts will appear in gray and the username and text will be removed. Forgotten users will also lose the ability to respond to your threads and any existing PMs with a forgotten user will be locked. If you have an outbound PM to a user you will not be able to forget them.

Both the follow and the forget lists are limited to 10 users each.

Thanks! So what does it mean if the "forget this user" option is grayed out, when you go to their profile? Have they already "forgotten" you?

It means you have an outbound PM to them in your box. You can't forget them unless you delete that message. I asked that too.

Ah, thanks. I don't think I'd ever use the "forget" function; just noticed it was grayed out on someone I tagged to follow, and was curious what it meant.

Forget seems like a great option for all the people who want to invite a partner to join but worry about having to censor their posts!

Except that you can't forget those who aren't logged in, in which case your posts are readable to them.

If I Forget my wife, can I get a letter from MH to show her when I've done something I deserve the frying pan treatment for?

If you forget your wife at this point you deserve a frying pan.

That is a good point.

Can I get a note that says I used all of my Follow allotments on her instead?
