Can anyone help find D records in MN? I wasted $39.95 on search

Someone is claiming publicly to be D, fairly recently. Tried to verify through searches. Thought PeopleFinder was fairly well recommended, but for $39.95 it brought up only outdated info, including an email, listed as current, that I know hasn't been active for 2 years! I was willing to pay for good info but don't want to keep throwing money down a hole.

Don't feel comfortable calling the county because I doubt that can be anonymous.

If someone has access to a search and is willing/able to do so, please PM me for details.

Thank you

Have you tried the Minnesota courts site?

Thanks, NIK! The records I'm anticipating aren't currently showing up - but it is a recent event I think, perhaps it takes awhile. I'll check back

If the docket is online, there would be a record of the case. You can usually search by name. If the divorce was recently final, you'd certainly see the entries on the docket for when the complaint was first filed even if the judgment entry isn't there yet.

Unless the case was sealed for some reason (eg domestic violence cases are sometimes sealed), calling the clerk of courts is usually helpful.

Also, make sure you're searching the correct court. It is state, but usually there are different county courts.

My state has a very similar website. The day that we filed for divorce, the record was on the court system as pending. The evening our divorce was final, it was on the website.

I'm guessing you're looking because you don't believe the divorce actually took place; maybe there aren't records to find? Or is it possible that it took place in a different state?

Divorces in MN are public record so you shouild not have to pay to get the info, but I think finding said info is a county by county thing. (I found this out when a stalker got ALL my personal info from my D records... Thanks Hennepin Co)

12/18/15 found out my now EX boyfriend was trolling CL for underage girls. From the cops. The fun never stops.

Wow, thanks everyone for all the input. I'll keep plugging away. I hesitate to call the court. I'm geographically several states away and not related to the parties in question. Would courts just give out the info to a (seemingly) random person calling?

The reason I'm looking into it is a recent change in someone's FB status from M to D. I can't imagine why this person would claim D if they weren't because their kids and other relatives would have questions - or so it would seem, anyway.

I really shouldn't even care about this, except it would be a bit of karma for someone if true.

The worst that could happen is that they would refuse to give you the information.

A public record should be just that - public.

Yes. They will. They get thousands of those calls. Thousands. It's a matter of public record.

Anything less than full disclosure and total transparency is pure bullshit. WARNING! No emotional pollution allowed.
