This is where I go to find some peace when my mind just won't quit. I take some deep breaths, inhale the fresh, salty air and clear my head for a bit. When I'm overcome by anxiety and sadness, and it feels like I've lost all hope, It helps me to reboot my thoughts and see the world in a more positive light. Thought I'd share because some of you might need a little peace in your hearts too. What helps you center yourself when you're overwhelmed by life?

Eta: there was supposed to be a photo of the beach I visit nearly every morning. I guess it didn't post

Yes, a beach would be an amazing place to go when overwhelmed with life! Lucky you!

I don't think I have a specific thing I do.

I use to talk to my BFF, but I quit because I seemed to overwhelm her with my shit (she is a BS and it would trigger her)

I come here and read SI. It helps knowing I am not alone.

I cry and just get it all out, then I realize the 'poor me' does no good.

Those days are not so often anymore, but they do still creep in...

I tell my BW about what I'm feeling.
I take a shower and meditate.
I read SI.
I channel my feelings into something more positive, like doing something beneficial for my family.

I too come to SI. I also reflect on my latest IC session which reminds me that I'm working on myself. I talk to my BS who is a great listener despite all the pain I've caused.

I too talk to my BH and take a dip in my big bath tub.

I would love a beach though.

We lived right on a beach in the Caribbean for two years...no bath tub then but I definitely prefer the beach.
