Only three days until it's back!
Anyone else eagerly awaiting the premier?

My brother is insisting that I watch this show. He and his wife are hooked!

I told him only if he starts watching Shameless.

OMG, me too, NIK. It's a visceral reaction.

Right!?! I can feel my shoulders relaxing a little more with each note of that brief bit of music.

*sigh*

I'll watch - but everything else I want to say about this program is verboten on F&G....

I just hope the story line doesn't turn to total crap like Downton Abbey did.

I agree. They've gone in too many directions.

I also want to know what's going on with Betty. Hopefully January Jones has recovered successfully from eating her kid's placenta.

Understood.

I have never seen Downtown Abbey. I missed the boat when it started, and now? Meh. No interest in jumping in and catching up.

I think I'm most looking forward to Sally's storyline this season. I think Kiernan is amazing, and given Sally's age and the timing of when the new season picks up, it could be rather... interesting.

I can see Sally dropping acid this season, LOL.

Love me some Mad Men. Love to hate on Don Draper. And I agree about the Sally story line. It's gonna be so good!!

Promoted because seriously I could not ship Stan and Peggy harder if I actually was Stan. Who has no good reason to be working on NYE except to stay on the phone with Peggy. NO REASON. Don hasn't put forward other concepts for the Hawaii campaign, so wtf is Stan doing? Gchattin' 1967 style is what.

It nagged him, in particular, that none of the girls he’d known so far had given him a sense of unalloyed triumph.

Watch this show? Hell, I lived this show! (1960s, ad agency, getting paid less than the guys while lobbying for women's rights, sexual harrassment by bosses, various hanky-pank things happening with people in the office--not me, and martinis. Did I miss anything?)

May I also say that I am not welcoming this brave new world of gross facial hair on all the young guys. I know Don et al are supposed to look out of step with the times but *who* was it who thought people looked good like that? Whose idea was this? It's the worst.

So, so bad.

Agree on Peggy/Stan. That's been building for awhile.

I've been shipping them since that first scene in the hotel room way back, but I just...I was so overwhelmed with joy at the phone thing. And he's right about Ted, I'm sure. If anyone should be able to recognize when a guy likes Peggy, it's Stan.

It's going to happen right?

It's a thing right?

I need it to be a thing.

He has NO NYE PLANS.

COME ON.

Then again I'm not sure he is much of a partier, other than tokin' up at the office. Even back during that first hotel room scene, his particular fratty douchiness always kind of seemed like a defense.

I've loved that guy since he was a kid on Evening Shade.
