OMG, just finished this book. Sadly. I did NOT want it to end. Abraham Verghese is such an excellent writer, I ate every word on every page.

I read somewhere that finishing a good book is almost like losing a friend.

A much more eloquent way of describing something I felt a couple of times when I was reading regularly.

aesir, these days I have decided I'm too old to waste my precious reading time on bad books! So....if I don't care for the first chapter, I don't bother with the rest.

My book club read this book. It was a really good read. I got a little frustrated with some of the characters, but enjoyed it so much. I was reading this during my WH affair.

lovedyoumore, when we get frustrated with characters, I guess that means we are gettng very involved in the story? I can recall older ladies getting upset with the behaviour of their favourite soap characters!

I actually just finished Cutting two weeks ago, Fantastic book.

I found I was also frustrated with charaters which, I assume, was because I was really involved with the story and the characters were "real" and thus fallable and human.

Highly reccommended.
