LOL!
This reminded me of when I was in high school and was either embarrassed or trying to hide what kind of book I was reading.

I'd cover it (just like the rest of my textbooks) in brown paper bag and write 'SPanish' or some other subject on it.

My folks never even looked twice!

The thing about the Fever books...besides the suspense, sex, etc...the storyline will really hook you.

The book before Shadowfever is a bit surreal, though...

Very easy to sit down and read a hundred pages at a time. I am a little over halfway into the first one and I just started last night.
It's a good read, and I don't want to put it down

I call the Grandma's Harlequin books the "One Foot on the Floor" books.

I was trying to remember what smut was in the first three books because it cannot compare to the Sistine Chapel of Smut that is the last one, but! then I remembered all that business about V'lane's presence causing you to strip and assume the position.

Okay, I started reading the Darkfever.

I like the book and it's easy to read but if Mac says the word "pretty" one more time I may go crazy.

Everything is "pretty". I've started to highlight the freaking word.

I'm really interested in Jericho. I find myself dreaming about him. Yeah, finally good dreams!

I saw an advertisement on television last night for a vibrator and it was named V'lane

I don't mind her saying "pretty" as long as she's not talking about herself. I get it, you're hot. I don't think a 22-yo conventionally attractive sorority girl type is really the best *choice* for a paranormal romance heroine, because shut up, but I will say that despite being annoying in a lot of ways, she knows there's no crying in baseball.

Barrons is one of the most irritable male leads in all of romance. Mood starts at "foul" and just gets worse from there. Never change, Barrons!

I am 100 pages into the second book now and I love them!
Which is an issue because I really need to put them down and get some work done.

I can't really tell if I like her as a character. I think for me at first she was really kind of shallow and 2 dimensional. But perhaps the point is that *we* the reader get to see her evolve through this experience and only maintain that tiny bit of her former self. It helps show what an impact this new world has on her and how grave the situation is.

And the sex fairy is cool.

Another convert!

Be careful, you know these are 'gateway' books and before you know it you will be reading some ridiculous romance.

I just ordered the rest of the series. It's going to be a cold winter even in Arizona.

At least I have good dreams now. And I'm eyeing my husband again.

I got some B&N gift cards for Christmas, so I picked up the first two books over the weekend.

I finished the first one in a day and just started on the second last night.

I have to agree with a previous poster. I'm not sure I 'love' Mac as the heroine, as she seems rather shallow and self involved, but the book was very entertaining!

I was wondering where Meta has been. Now I know. In the closet with smut.
