So I couldn't figure out why STBX insisted that just one of us be at the Boy Scout planning meeting tonight. It didn't make any sense - he came to Back to School Night last week and sat next to me for two of my son's classes. (I ignored him of course.) I told him I was adult enough to sit in the same room with him and be polite for the BS meeting and I would hope he could be too. But he emailed me, texted me - twice - this morning and finally phoned me about it. I told him I had a bunch of work to do and I didn't know if I'd be able to be there or not, but that if he wanted the info, he'd have to go to the meeting.
When I arrived and was in the car with the kids, he came over and asked who was going to the meeting and who was taking the kids. I told him the kids were coming in with me and I was going to the meeting and he could come too.
We sat far apart during the meeting, but he was between me and the main speaker. At one point I see the woman sitting next to him, lean over, say something in his ear and point with her pen. It hits me - OH MY GOD! - SHE is the other woman. He's been denying a girlfriend all along, but I received that email with the picture of the rental car and the "Love you" signature, so I KNEW there was someone (special). And I think this is her. Immediately after the meeting I asked a friend who she is and he said the boy just joined the troop, so he doesn't know her. I told him what I thought, but he said he didn't notice. (They were behind and to the side of him.)
OMG. OMG. OMG. She's lovely. Slender, well put together. I tried and tried to see if there was a wedding ring and she had her hand under her clipboard the whole time. Shit.
I don't know what to do with this info now, though. I need to find out who she is. And where she's from. If she's from out of the area, that might explain the car.
I also need to get the credit card records and get more info about that car. There's MUCH more to this story...
It was wonderful being away this weekend seeing our friends on their dairy. There was no drama. And now here I am back in it again. My stomach is in knots and I can barely breathe. Thank God for the Xanax to help me sleep at night...
