I had to get a cortisone injection in the bottom of my right foot.
OMG that SUCKED.
I managed to have a panic attack during it; that helped a lot.
I don't care for needles, but I never freak out about them. Something about getting this one really creeped me out. And it seemed to take forever.
Now I'm dreading going back to the podiatrist. I do *not* want to have another foot-shot!

Oh come on!!! You already had one and survived!!! You can do it Crossbow. Does it help if I tell you I have been shot in the hip and shoulder? Like with a big needle to get to the bursa in the joint.
Hope you don't need another one anyway.

Could be worse. Could be a shot in the butt. Or the pen . . . oh, never mind.

I'm sorry for the pain.
But I'm not at all sorry that when I clicked on "Forums" I scanned down and saw:

It did hurt. HOWEVER, the shot was nothing compared to how it feels tonight. Excruciating.
Apparently it's a good idea to ice it for some time afterwards.
I'm not a wimp about pain but OMG I was hobbling out of Lodge tonight. It hurt my foot to drive, for crying out loud.
God, I hope I don't have to do this again!

I'm sorry you're hurting; foot problems! I had to have bunion surgery years ago; the podiatrist wanted to do BOTH feet at the same time and I just could not deal with it--we were preparing to move to AZ and I just couldn't handle the downtime. He said 'Most people who have only one foot done do not come back for the second.' That should have been my red flag! I was awful, did not help the problem, and no, I never went back for the other foot!

SadinAZ, my mom had to have some kind of drastic foot surgery in which they did the bunions, took out a couple of neuromas, and broke & reset her foot bones.
Her doc said she had to do both feet at once; otherwise she wouldn't have the 2nd one done.
She agrees. If you do one, you won't go back for another. She had a radical mastectomy in 1982, and she said she'd far rather go through that than have even 1 foot done.
Her feet are awful. She just had a joint removed on Friday. Along with the other many problems, she had a hammertoe, and every joint in her feet has arthritis (actually, she has arthritis everywhere pretty badly).
BUT she'll be 78 this month, she swims several times a week and walks 5 miles 3-4 times per week. Except for when she's recovering from foot surgery.
I should start a separate thread about how utterly amazing my mom is on so many levels.
