Okay, guys, you aren't going to believe this!

As some of you know, I've been trying to sell my home for over a year. It did go into escrow several times, but then something always seemed to happen and it dropped out.

I read about getting a St. Joseph statue and burying it upside down here so I did that last weekend.

Still can't believe I did it.

In the meantime, the listing with the realtor expired and I didn't sign up for more. I've been trying to decide what to do next. So there isn't even a sign in front of the house.

And now I've had three offers since last Tuesday!

I can't believe it!!!!!!!!!

Unbelievable.

I did the same thing and after no offers for 7 months, we accepted an offer 9 days after burying him.

Good luck with your selling. We are waiting for closing dates...still nervous something can go wrong but fingers are crossed!

DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.

Last year I sold the house I'd lived in for 25 years. I needed a quick sale, because I signed a contract to build a new house, and the builder wouldn't start until I had a contract on the house I was selling.

My house was on the market for 3 weeks and I was starting to get edgy.

I got a St. Joseph and buried him. I said the prayer twice a day. I had a contract at 31 days, a week after burying him, and it was a cash buyer!

My aunt told me that I could come and live with her until my new house was finished. I was looking at about 5 months in between homes. She was planning to give her house to her son, and she was going to move into a retirement cottage community. My cousin had to sell his house first, and it had been on the market for 9 months with no bites. My aunt said, "Come on over and stay with me; his house isn't going to sell anytime soon." So, after I put everything but bare necessities in storage, I moved in with her.

I took St. Jospeph with me, because you are supposed to give him a place of honor after he's done his duty. I sat him on the dresser in my room at my aunt's house.

I hadn't been there a week when I went downstairs one morning and my aunt was crying. I said, "What's wrong?" She said, "B's house sold last night and they are a cash buyer and they want the house in 20 days. On the one hand, she wanted to get the whole thing over with, but she really thought that it wouldn't happen until after the holidays." So, St. Joseph worked his magic when he wasn't even buried and he wasn't even at the house that was for sale!!! He just knew that there was a house sale and switch languishing!

So, I moved in with my mother. And I put St. Joseph in the storage unit.

But now, he has front and center of the fireplace in my new home!

I am glad this worked for you! I did not hear about St. Joseph until I had just taken my house off the market after 10 months. I had put it on the market literally the same month that the bottom fell out of housing market in 2008. After 10 months with less than 1 showing a month, I decided to change my plans completely and stay.

Well, it is in escrow with 2 back-up offers. I still can't believe it. And I got a higher price than it was listed with the realtor for a year.

I'm so excited, because this has been such a huge strain. I bought another house before I sold the first one and have been making double payments since July.

Been living on rice and beans. Gonna celebrate tonight.

And thanks to whoever first posted this. I didn't believe it, just did it out of desperation. WHEW.

Interesting... I went to 12 years of catholic schooling and was raised catholic.. I was teased about how we catholics prayed to statues...

I never knew we could sell houses! What a great outcome for one and all!

I'm very glad to read this. I have purchased a kit and am planning to bury it this weekend.

I'm not going to let this define me anymore. He's gone and I couldn't be happier.

You couldn't have told me in July and December of 2006, but there really is a life after this mess.

So I guess the procedure is to dig up St. Joseph and put him in a place of honor?

Hang in there yewtree. Things are picking up. Mine has been for sale for over a year. It did go into escrow a couple of times, but fell out for various reasons.

Then in July and August, NOBODY even looked at it. Now how do you fix that?

Then out of the blue, 3 offers in 5 days.

I did keep everything in tip top shape all of this time - that was sure a strain, especially when no one even walked through.
