Also I realize this may feel tedious. However, I want to make sure everyone is happy with their books. If interested pick books from different gentres. We will have our reading lists soon.

Okay, so forgive me for being ignorant, but can someone explain to me exactly how this book club would work?

I mean, I understand how a 'regular' book club works: You agree to read a book and everyone meets once a month (or whatever) to discuss the section of the book that's been read. Or something like that.

I've never actually been a part of a book club, but I do love to read and read all the time and I'd love to discuss whatever I happen to be reading with someone, so a book club would be right up my alley. But I'm just a little confused as to how it would work here, on the forum.

Can someone explain? Sorry to be so clueless!

Hi Cb,

When I first joined felt the same way. Then members replied they were interested. Just right now were working on the kinks. We would love you to join. We may be focusing on books from the gentre list. If you could sent it over by tomorrow. This would be super.

Hi all,

It was decided when looking over book titles. People wants to do themes which will make it really exciting. All I want is a list from everyone which books they prefer. Then once books are picked, we could discuss ch1/3 weekly. Looking to collaborate book list for monthly schedule.

Here it comes, many of the books we choose sometimes runs a theme. For instance Persuasion by Jane Austin (could be a classic or woman's literature). Persuasion woman's literature
The Passage by Justin Cronin this will be fantasy/science fiction. Private by James Patterson (mystery). Water for Elephants has that historical feel to it. (Do not shoot me) I do want to add one book from the Oprah collectiion. Eat pray and Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. If you prefer we could vote on the titles to this list. To make a little easier for everybody to select from. If something is on the list, not into it. We could change that title and all make another decision. Also, believe someone asked how will it work? We are playing it by air, just trying to get the titles selected. The goal would be to read one book a month. Each week we could discuss ch 1/3.. So let me know what you think

Would it be easier to pick a genre first and then submit our ideas for books?

For instance if we decide to do classics first and everyone can chime in on their idea.
Or if we do Mystery.
etc.

Wanted to suggest, if it wasn't already, that we include non-fiction, too. There are some wonderful books out there that are worth reading and discussing, of course, no infidelity subjects.

Oh yeah, I don't want to read anything infidelity related.

The biggest problem that I am going to have with this is that I am an incredibly fast reader.
I can go through a normal sized paperback in about two hours.

So pacing myself is going to be torturous.

I have that same problem NA! I think picking one genre @ a time would maybe work best. We could just put the genres in alphabetical order and go down the list. What do you think?

The first genre I can think of that starts with A is Adventure.
As in true adventure... stories of survival or tales of wild travel trips, etc.

Another A genre is autobiography.

Is anyone interesting in starting that way?
