Hi all, new here too so hope you don't mind me joining this thread.

Started my weight loss plan two weeks ago. Weighed in at 172 lbs. Had first weigh in on Saturday and was down to 167, weighed again this morning and back up by 1 lb!!!

Off on a big holiday in just over six weeks time so hoping to lose at least 14 lbs.

Am exercising daily in the gym and burning off at least 450 - 500 calories. Walking the dogs and part jogging in the morning as well for 40 mins.

Tried on a dress I wore two weeks ago and it definately wasn't as tight so think the non-weight loss is due to toning!! Am on about 1000 calories a day or less, maybe I need to up a bit, not sure.

Next weigh in on Saturday so will post again then.

Keep up the good work everyone and keep posting.

So where have I been all this time? I just remembered this thread was here.

So in March I decided I was way too fat and getting fatter.

I joined a gym and completely changed how I was eating.

I've lost about 25lbs and am at the size I want to stay.

I'm working on some "problem" areas now and trying to maintain the weight loss.

I met with the trainer at the gym last week to revamp my workout from weight loss to maintenance and toning. We'll see how that goes.

So how many days per week are you working out? I was trying to do 5 days and have now gone down to 4.

I just feel like, on the days I take off, I'm slacking and should be doing something.

welcome gullible and good job CD!

well, once I get my ass back in the gym, I'm usually there 4-5 days a week. In the interim, I'm walking, walking, walking. In total, I walk an hour 5 days a week. I walk to & from the train station that's furthest from my job (15 min each way), I take walks up & down a hill twice a day (15 min each time) and I take the stairs whenever possible. Doing this has helped me drop a little bit, but I know I need to kick up the intesity in order to see more results.

I'm still low carb-ing it, which is also a huge help. Keep it up guys!

I am trying to do something about my weird weigh-gain.

I have been almost exactly the same weight for 4 yrs - the beginning of this year I just started gaining! A few pounds but enough to put me at my heaviest EVER!! And that includes my pregnancy weights.

Even using the WeightWatchers website and using their points and food journal I am gaining. Even adding in 20 minutes of exercise a few days a week (which I have never really done) I am gaining.

Just a note - BrightHouse has an exercise station - where you can get almost any type of exercise on demand. I use the walk and tone 20 minute video - I also have an eliptical that I havent touched in a while and I am considering going back to SouthBeach diet.

Hi all,

I know I shouldn't have but I had a really bad day yesterday and was feeling really teary and fed up with life. Have had major fall out with my youngest daughter coupled with stress at work and then some upset with a local farmer who was supposed to be helping me out with something. Then to top it all off the can opener broke and that opened the flood gates!!! Its funny how the stupidist thing can set you off when your having a down day! Feel a right idiot this morning!

Hence no work out at all yesterday, felt a right failure but then got on the scales again this morning (this is where I knew I shouldn't have really) and the l lb I put on had gone!!

Anyway, feeling brighter today and back into it. I try and get on the treadmill at least every day for between 1/2 hr and full hr on a weight loss programme, walk and jog daily with the dogs and every other day, leg exercises and sit-ups for 3/4 hr.

This is my second week in and I'm down 6 lbs so can't grumble. Doing slimfast during the day with a small meal if I feel like it in the evening or another shake. Also trying to get some green tea in and half a grapefruit!

Not feeling too hungry at the mo but if I do then I tend to snack on some fruit or have a slimfast snack.

Good luck everyone. My official two week weigh in is on Monday so will let you know how I go.

Big hugs

Hi. I have had problems with my weight for the last 15 years, ever since I was diagnosed with thyroid disease. I had put on 60 pounds during the first 6 months and then another 55 in the following years, topping out at 225.

After I found out about WH, I decided to really try to loose some of this weight as I know how bad I have gotten over the years even though I eat less all the time.

I started to loose weight in the middle of Feb and in three months, had lost 20 pounds. Because of many things going on, I was unable to concentrate on my health until mid august. Since then, I have lost another 10 pounds. I am really proud of myself for loosing this weight.

How much have others lost before people start to notice? No one has said anything to me yet or seem to have noticed. My friends, people at church or work or any family members.

edit: I guess my weight loss (30 pounds) has only been about 13 percent of my body weight, so that may be why no one has noticed.

Trying to lose that last 10 lbs. I am walking almost every morning. Also going to start yoga classes again.

It seems that every time I cut back on my food I get emotional. Like I feel everything moe intensely . Does anyone else struggle with this.? If you do what do you do to help cope?

hi everyone!

I was trying to lose my pregnancy weight prior to finding out about A, needless to say teh I diet helped me kickstart the weight loss. I am not happy about the reason I lost, but nonetheless, I lost 20lbs in the past 2 months since getting suspicious/finding out about the A. I have 10 lbs to go to get to my prepregnancy weight of 154, and I still want to lose 14 lbs more, I so my goal is 140, current weight 164. I have never gotten down past 145, and 150 is my default low weight, not bad for my height but I have always wanted to lose that extra 10-15lbs and I am bound and determined to get to 140 this time. I am also going to be a bridesmaid next june so that is another reason to drop some pounds. About the I diet: I started off just eating less, making my milk supply drop, WH was upset about that, we are supplementing the baby with formula, but it is just another consequence to the A I guess. Once I found out about A I lost very rapidly, but after a couple weeks I have started forcing myself to eat more, I know that I need to eat for myself and for the baby to still get some breastmilk, but boy it is hard..I am doing better eating wise, and no longer want to vomit everytime I try to eat. I really used to enjoy food, now not so much, I am eating to survive basically. I know this isn't healthy and I will hopefully get back to a more normal eating habit soon.

I am trying to fit walking in, and I found this really cool app on my EVO, it's called NOOM, it keeps track of weight, goals, food, exersise, it even has a program so that you can track your walking/running via GPS and it will calculate your calories burned, speed etc. Pretty neat for those that have a smart phone you should check it out.

ETA: i see many people are mentioning thyroid issues. I have suspected issues as well. When I went for my yearly pap/std check(thanks wh), I asked to get my thyroid levels checked and they were off, so I am getting them rechecked in a month to see if they have normalized or not. Not sure if the levels were high or low, but I will see in a few weeks.

Sorry, been a while since I posted but have had a few up and down weeks. Having problems with my legs and pains in my side, think I may have a trapped sciatica (not sure if you spell it that way!) nerve.

Exercising has dropped a bit, came off the treadmill for now so just doing a bit with the dogs and leg, thigh and bum exercises. Clothes still getting looser but not showing that much on the scales.

Have changed my diet from Slim fast to 18in4. Did it about a year ago and seems to work for me. Don't loose as much as that but around 5 lbs in four days. Now hitting the scales at 158 so getting there slowly.

Hubby away this weeks so struggling to keep to it, bit of comfort eating!!

Keep going everyone and let us know how your all doing.

Big hugs to all

May I join ya'll? I make cupcakes for a living and to that add long time hypothyroid issues has left me with more of me than I want. So, I stopped tasting what I make, and got my butt moving on my treadmill.
My doc just changed my thyroid meds to a natural one. Either my body will love it, or I will be buying new bigger pants soon no matter what I do. Time will tell. The roid will do whatever it wants.
This time I am working this for me, not WH. I will never be enough in any way for him anyway.
On a good note, I lost 2 lbs last week even w/raging PMS.
One thing I have been doing since I crave sweets is drinking 16 oz of water w/2TBS organic apple cider vinegar through a straw cuz it is so acidic. This has totally curbed my sweet cravings!

I started the hCG diet this past Saturday, 10/ of this morning I am down 7.2 lbs! It's not easy but not as hard as I thought!

I am doing this for me! I don't want the health problems my parents are suffering under! (high BP, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, gout, obesity...etc)

nooneverthought, 18in4 is a diet that was done by a guy named James Zeta (can be found if you google it).

Its a four day diet that he devised that can help supposedly lose up to 18 lbs in 4 days.

I have to say, I have never lost that amount but do tend to lose about 4 - 5 lbs each cycle I do.

I can't really post the details on here as it is his living (you have to pay a small fee for the details) but the food is all the kind of stuff that you get everyday.

Obviously no carbs but couple of different veggies and meat. Breakfast is the same everyday and of course lots of water.

Its worked well for me in the past thats why I have dug it out again. I tend to miss the day 4 as it involves Prune Juice!!!! and to be honest, I lost most of the weight the first three days and not really much on the 4th if any. I also tend to do either 4 days (or 3) with one day off or two stints together and then a day off. I do try and take it easy on the day off and eat sensibly, my downfall being the wine!!!

Hope this helps

I tried the LLD drops, Acai Berry and Colon clense etc and none of them worked for me!

Big hugs

Now that it is finally cool enough to actually be outside, I have started walking each day. I do about 2.5 miles. My doctor had suggested that I follow the gycemic index diet and it seems to be doing nice.
I started at 225 last february and am at 190 now. I have not told any one about my "secret diet" or weight loss. It will be interesting to see how much weight I loose before anyone actually notices.

Purple - Congrats on the weightloss. What is that diet?

I'm eating healthy, walking, lots of green tea, and exercise. Scale is not moving.

It is based on carbohydrates and their effect on blood sugar. Choosing carbs with a lower number have less effect on blood sugar spikes, help lower cholesterol, help you feel full longer and reduce cravings. Low GI is below 50, and high is above 70. 100 would be pure glucose and it's affect on blood sugar. a 20 wouldn't raise it as much.

It is interesting to see some vegetables be very low and others are in the high range.

There are many books and web pages out there, but one of the first was by Dr. Jennie Brand-Miller M.D which is the one I got. Most seem to offer the same information with their own angle on it.

Like everything, research and use all your knowledge of nutrition and yourself and adapt it to you and your lifestyle. It makes it easier to make it a life habit.

I decided to post on this thread because my weight loss is one of the few things that has come out positive at this time.

I joined Weight Watchers in October 2010 and it took a year but I finally lost the 40lbs I needed to lose. My doctor took me off my diabetes meds and even though I have the A to deal with, I am doing it in a new body. My sister had to take me shopping to get some new clothes as I am now 3-4 sizes smaller. It really has helped my self esteem not to take a huge tumble. My evening walks help keep me centered before I get home too.

So all of you who are on this journey, keep it up! Every bit of positivity helps!
