I dropped another pound last week and hit a new low of 161. Yesterday bumped up to 164, today 163.

I've started recording everything I eat again. I'm determined to keep at this.

Hehe.

Actually there is. You Maintaining a healty metabolism is key. There are easy ways to do this.

a. Drink lots of cold water. 1.5-2L in a day.
b. Instead of eating 3 big meals, split them up into 5-6 smaller meals ~3 hours apart.
c. Ensure you are getting all of your required vitamins. A deficiency in B complex, for example, will result in lowered metabolism.
d. Do not starve yourself. Severe calorie reduced diets can trigger the bodies starvation response which can significantly lower metabolism. Below 800 calories a day may trigger this. Though its insanely hard to eat 800 calories without being hungry.. I would stick with 1400 in a day.

Haven't really lost any more weight (or gotten back to my 170 that I was pre-Thanksgiving), but someone saw me in jeans & t-shirt today & said "Have you lost more weight?"

A good compliment is always nice 2-hear.

173.8 lbs. this morning, still 38% fat though. I had to skip workout this morning, so maybe I can squeeze it in 2n after DS10's homework.

fWH told me that it seems like when I do Xbox game (Yourself Fitness), that I break a sweat better. He thinks maybe even though the recumbent bike claims I'm burning 400+ calories in 1 hour, that I actually help my body burn more when I do the Xbox stuff. I'm dropping the bike this week & ONLY doing Xbox. We'll see if that makes any difference in my fluctuating weight.

174.0 w/38% fat Tuesday. Did fitness challenge this morning on YourSelf Fitness. Maya said my heartrate after 1 minute of jumping jacks compared to my resting HR was low-intensity. That's something good.

Free lunch today @work-related meeting (pizza). Could not resist the temptation. I regret eating so much. I just cannot turn down pizza. I drank diet soda, if that counts as something good.

Well, 11 days in Disney didn't help in the fitness department (other than all that walking). But at least we did take a step forward as soon as we got home...

We've ordered a Wii and Wii Fit.

Really looking forward to seeing how we can leverage this into making our workout efforts more fun and integrated with family life.

Im still struggling...gaining and losing the same 5 lbs. I guess I should be thankful that Im not gaining and then NOT losing it again. STill pretty consistent with the exercise, but not as dilligent. I strive to get 30 min 4 x a week. For awhile I was doing 45-60 min 4-6 days. Not realistic in the long run for me. Still following the WW plan, but mostly on my own. Tired of obsessing about weight. Tired of spending money on losing weight. Tired, just tired.

We are still on the P90X plan. BW took a trip and missed 4 days during the second week, so we are extending the initial three weeks of Phase 1 to compensate. I have lost 2 pounds in the 23 days I have been doing it, but I am probably going to have to buy some new pants next week, so my weight is just moving around. BW is in the same boat. We are going to add the nutrition plan this week, so the fat should be coming off soon.

We are both stronger that when we started. I am seeing muscles I haven't seen since I was in my early 20's. We work out in the mornings (5:30am) which is a little rough, but we are really doing it together, so that makes it easier.

From what I know of P90X its primary focus is on muscle gain. So any fat loss you are experiencing may be hidden on the scale by muscle gain. Since muscle weighs more than its equivalent volume of fat.

I am on a similar program and while I still see fat loss and I have gone down a pant size since I started, the scale has not moved much at all in the past 2 months. Though I am currently at my lowest point in at least 10 years.

Though I did go down another 0.8 pound last week.

Hey Maxiom,

Which program are you doing?

Yes, the program doesn't sell itself as a weightloss program. It focuses on fitness and then says that you can do it for building muscle or for losing weight. Either way you are getting more fit and likely are going to lose weight. After we bought it we found that there are a few different versions, so instead of doing the Classic, we are doing P90X Lean which has more cardio. Neither my W or myself want to bulk up, we have never been into that. Obviously the fat is being exchanged for muscle so weight loss is minimal right now. That is why we are starting the nutrition portion. By the end of the 90 days I am hoping to be down about 10-15 pounds. I think W is hoping for 15-20 pounds.

Maybe when we get to the end of the 90 days we will share our before and after pics...

I am doing a program run out of the local martial arts academy which is owned by a friend of mine. It is similar to P90X but not quite. It does focus on overall fitness and nutrition rather than muscle growth since it was tailored for the martial arts studio.

However, after losing a ton of weight I decided to work more toward muscle growth. I can see improvement on my arms, chest, shoulders and legs. . Still working on the gut, but thatís where the nutrition and cardio is key.

New to this thread, hi everyone.

H and I decided to try a healthier diet and exercise lifestyle last summer.

H has lost twenty pounds since we began (he was 205lbs and is now 185ibs), I started at 137lb and haven;t really lost weight, I fluctuate between 133lbs and 138lbs. I am 5'4" H is 6'0"

We have both seen a big difference in our fitness level, and though I havn't lost much weight I have lost inches, and my legs and arms look more toned. I have dropped clothes size.

we don't exactly diet, but we do try and eat a healty balanced diet.

We eat less meat, more fish, more fresh fruit and veg. We barely eat any processed food or prepackaged food (except things like rice, beans, canned tomatoes and some cereal)

We eat at least two vegetarian meals per week.

We have cut down on bread, salt and sugar, but use lots of herbs and spices.

I began exercising using Wii Fit, then bought Wii Active which I think is better than Wii fit. Then I bought Wii cardio boxing (fun, fun, fun). I now use Wii My fitness Coach. I also bought a step for step aerobics. H uses an exercise bike. We have some hand weights for strength training and last night H bought a mini trampoline ($30 from Walmart).

there are days when I get discouraged, yesterday was one, the weight fluctuation dries me nuts, as I feel I am working hard, and I do see a diffference, just wish I could maintain a consant 133lbs.

Hopint that by coming to this thread I can find my motivationon days when it is hard, and maybe help motivate others.

ETA: I wish posting on SI burnt calories, lots of calorieseyes:

Hey guys... I am/was about 10 lbs over weight, and totally out of shape. Went back to gym about 3 weeks ago, cardio and weights.

I feel better, I think I look better (could be because I am also tanning the fat ), but have not dropped any weight.

Pissing me off

Still keeping at it, but this is not as easy as it used to be, damnit.
