I had breast reduction surgery about 20 years ago. My only regret was that I didn't get it done soomer!
All those years of struggling to find clothes that fit. Buying a bra was a nightmare. Trying to find a store that carried bigger sizes, especially in a small town. Then having to try on one after another after another because even though they're labeled the same size they don't fit the same. Buying a swimsuit was a nightmare because by the time I fit my boobs in the bottom was waaay too big (back then you couldn't buy the pieces separately, they only came in sets). And most of all I can't begin to describe the impact of the unbelievably insensitive things said to me, even complete strangers!
I remember going to my gyn for my pap a few months afterwards & he asked me how I felt about having had it done. I told him I couldn't be happier. He said every patient he'd had that had had a reduction felt the same way.
The thought of surgery is always unnerving but just think how pleased you'll be with the outcome!

I have a friend who had a reduction, and she said it was the best thing she ever did.
I had no idea until she told me how much strain on one's back, neck, and shoulders those things can cause!

I had one 12 years ago. It was a really great choice. The big thing with me is that they were ridiculously uneven, like 2 cup sizes difference, maybe more. The smaller one just barely was big enough to get the surgery, and insurance wouldn't approve for just the one, you had to have two or nothing. Isn't that dumb? And the total amount reduced had to meet a minimum gram amount *per breast*.
The worst part was sleeping on my back for six weeks afterward. You're supposed to put a wedge under your back to maintain an incline. That was hard. The rest was easy though, glad I did it.
It nagged him, in particular, that none of the girls he’d known so far had given him a sense of unalloyed triumph.

I went from a 38H to a 38C.
Like LadyV said, the sleeping on your back can be kind of frustrating. I really wish I had had a recliner at that time because I would have slept in it for sure.
Consider getting your armpits waxed if it bothers you to have pit hair. I got mine waxed a few days before my surgery.
I thought that reaching my arms up was going to be my biggest problem. Wrong. It was also difficult to stretch my arms forward (think wiping off a table) or to bend over (think loading or emptying a dishwasher).
The first time you shower after surgery, if possible, don't wash your hair. Let somebody else wash it for you in the sink or over the side of the tub. It's hard enough to dry yourself after a shower without having water dripping off your head. You probably won't be able to raise your arms high enough to dry your hair.
Feel free to PM me any questions and if I think of any other helpful hints, I'll let you know.

I know there's women out there that want bigger breasts but they have no idea how painful they are physically or emotionally.

I am a DD on one side and an DDD on the other and even though they are both heavy the DDD is killing my shoulder on that side.

I am a stomach sleeper so I'm sure I wont be sleeping much.
Thanks for all the hints, I will take everything you guys got. I have tons of questions.
I have one you guys can PM me with if you want to answer privately.
I am afraid that if I go down from a 38DD/DDD to a C that if I gain any weight I may go from a C to a D. I want to stay far away from that letter of the alphabet.

I can identify, although the biggest I ever got was (can I remember?) Do they have double Es?
My issue is that my breast have gone up and down SO MUCH with pregnancy and nursing that I only fill a D cup, but they inevitably fall out - vented about that before
I am so glad you can have this done!!!!!
Someday, someday...
