Ha, just found this. All of my exGFs as well as my WW have all complained about me being inattentive, insensitive to others, forgetful, overfocused on things that are not really that important, etc., I just thought it was a personality quirk...my dad is like that, as well as my paternal grandfather. As a kid, I never really exhibited the hyperactivity portion of things, but definitely had the old "he's really smart, but does poorly in school due to not finishing homework" deal going on.
I started to wonder about myself once I had my son, though. I had thoughts thaat he might be ADHD from an early age....but what really made me wonder about myself as well was really two things. 1) When I watch my son move around, react to his environment, talk to people, babble, etc., it's like watching someone do an interpretive dance of how my brain has felt FOR MY ENTIRE LIFE. 2) I started reading up on what to expect for him as he became an adult, and many of the issues were problems that I have had as an adult. He's medicated currently. I guess, if anyone reads this, my question is: how do I go about getting evaluated and/or medicated myself? Because my son is covered through the Medicaid, but I have no insurance whatsoever, so I don't even know where I'd start for myself.

Try this:

that site is a great source of information and resources for living with ADD.
