A big thank-you to everyone. Your responses actually took a huge load off. I didn't know how huge until after i'd posted. It allowed me to find a little compassion for him (in a detached sort of way, where did the nice woman i was go? ) Zanny, nope, no gerbils!
OTC and UNI, i'm rooting quietly for you both today.

i want to thank you for the imagery of pulling out the ole six shooter and blasting OW out of bed...it works for me! the stop sign is good but the six shooter more satisfying.

I am new here (8/07) and I don't know your story. I checked your profile and found amazing quotes but don't know your background. I will just wish you strength to go through finding the truth. The truth hurts but it helps us heal.

And thank you for your beautiful post to my H (Empty One) in Wayward.

uni - I only caught part of what's going on because H has been home all day today, most of yesterday and the day before.

But I hope this time it's the truth... for your sake.

Don't know when I'll get a chance to catch up. Grabbed a couple minutes here while he's in the shower

But his presence is so.... intrusive. I can't get anything done. Granted, it's great he wants to share everything that's on tv with me, but when I'm home alone... it's never on. I like my peace and quiet.

Anyway he's off to a job interview. I hope he gets it and I hope he doesn't. I hate change of any kind, it always brings such an "adjustment" period. I hate feeling unsettled.

Oops gotta run.

Can I get some advice that is not directly A related?

I took a good hard look at myself in the mirror today and let me say, it's not pretty. I think six months of not sleeping very well and crying basically on a daiy basis has finally taken a real toll on my skin. It is splotchy (sp?), saggy and dry looking. I have very dry, sensitive skin anyway and when the heat kicks on in the winter it is never good but this year is really bad.

I used to use a heavy cream at night but they have stopped making it and I am completely at a loss as to how to help my poor beleaguered skin. Please, please, please...I need advice, actual products with names, etc. anything.

(((Uni))) I admire your strength and courage and am so happy that Mr. Uni is finally choosing to tell you the truth. This is going to be a tough weekend for you and I hope we can help you both as you struggle through this process. Prayers, hugs and much support to you both.
Lost - I missed you yesterday. So glad it all worked out for you. Loved the "I'm a working girl" story. Gave me a real belly laugh.
Up2me - thanks for that quote. I do agree that the more we can look to the future and put our past behind us the happier we are going to be. I am going to make this quote my new mantra!
Weepy - my H only works 3 days a week now and it drives me crazy. He's always looking over my shoulder. You can tell when he's working just by the number of posts I'm able to send.
Wishing everyone a great weekend. See you all on Monday or sooner if I'm able.

Hey shirley,

Have you ever used any Origins products? I really like their Perfect World White Tea Skin Guardian. It's a really light combination moisturizer/toner concoction that is really soothing for your skin. They also have a great toner for sensitive skin called Comforting Solution that I like a lot.

If you need a more emolient moisturizer, they also have a white tea moisturizer in the same line.

Shirley,

After years of spending mega bucks on skin products, a client who is a dermatologist gave me her secret.

"Cetafil" products....inexpensive, easy to find even in a supermarket or drug store.

Best part is, they work.....fantastically.

There is a facial day cream, among the other options that is sooo good. Lightweight, yet very absorbing.
SPF is right on the money.

I highly recommend all of them.

HS - I love the cetafil products too. My dermatologist recommended them as well.

Ugh, Shirley I had the same look at myself yesterday. I just looked so worn out! Makeup helps, I guess I have just been forgetting to put it on!

I use Cetaphil at night too. If you use any RetinA products, you can mix it in with the Cetaphil and you don't get dry. Also, everyone has been raving about Prevage (Elizabeth Arden?), and antioxidant for the skin. They sell it at Cosco, it's pricey, but it's supposed to be good. The other thing, is there is a skin cleaner called Clarisonic; like the Sonicare toothbrush, that cleans your skin with sonar pulsing. Many people like that because it exfoliates so well and allows the products to really penetrate the skin. If you don't exfoliate, it's another layer that the product has to work through.

That's all.....bye!

thanks NAS and Zanny - definitely will try the Cetaphil. I don't need any soap, etc as my skin is so dry I can't put any soap on it at all. AND, don't any of you start asking how is smell!!!

shirley, I'm glad you asked that question because I just started using the Oil of Olay night regenerist product because I looked at myself in the mirror the other day with my glasses on. I'll never do THAT again.

I had to take my drivers license out the other day and the picture was taken only 18 months ago. I look 10 years older now.
